| BUBBLES THE MONKEY!!! | Because Clemens is a pitcher playing 1/4 of a year and at 45 he completely broke down. An every day player like A-Rod who's barely ever hurt playing to 45 is absolutely absurd. It won't happen. It'll be a miracle if he plays to 42. edit: Out of curiosity, would anyone want to go in a on a fantasy baseball league? I mean, I refuse to commish one because it's too fucking long, but I still definitely want to get one (even though it''s a good 4-6 months away.

| A-Rod could be a DH for a couple of years in his early-mid 40's easy. A pitcher breaks down a lot faster than a batter.

| How is Clemens remotely relevant? He's a fat guy who hasn't taken care of himself in a long time. A-Rod is regarded as one of the fittest players in the game, and from what I've read he's meticulous about his diet. He's also been injury free for the most part throughout his career. I'm not saying he'll play till he's 45, but it's not out of the realm of possibility assuming he avoids major injury & keeps up his training routine. |

| These are the odds lines to win the World Series according to the National Sports Advisiors. Arizona Diamondbacks 9/2 Boston Red Sox 5/4 Cleveland Indians 3/1 Colorado Rockies 5/2 I'm taking the Sox to finish the season this year. The only wildcard in the next three games (to me) is Matsuzaka. Granted he'll be getting an extra two days of rest thanks to switching his spot in the rotation with Shilling. Shilling, right now, has the best winning percentage (.800, 10-2) and best ERA (1.93, 100+IP) in postseason history and Beckett has been kicking ass as well. The same as the past 23 years, go Sox! |

| BUBBLES THE MONKEY!!! | but he's 45....That's why it's relevant. I disagree on pitcher's breaking down faster than hitters. Most hitters start to lose their pop in the mid to late 30s while most pitchers lose it in the early 40s. Also, Lol. ESPN - Rivera's return may hinge on Yanks keeping Torre - MLB |

| I think Posada may jump ship too if they get rid of Torre. Rumors so far have been La Russa and Maddingly. Maddingly would be a better fit mostly due to the fact that he's already there. I just can't picture La Russa as a coach in NY. |

| Once again, Clemens hasn't taken care of himself in a long time. Going from the couch to throwing 95 mph fastballs can cause hamstring & back problems? You don't say... A more relevant example would be Cal Ripken Jr., who was still in good shape when retiring at 41 and playing at a decent level. Rodriguez is a better hitter than Ripken was, as 2bit said there's no reason he couldn't DH in his 40s as long as he doesn't suffer any major injuries. Suns, Sun Devils, Wildcats all sell out easily. Even the crappy Wildcat football program. The Cardinals are finally selling out games (no local blackouts last two seasons So once again, fuck ESPN for all this AZ fans suck crap. All blame falls purely on the new management who wanted nothing to due with the team or players people cared about here. P.S. The team this year is pretty damn scrappy, and its tough not to like the players. So it's not hating the team, but it's simply not wanting to support management.
