| Romo is a manwhore | [NFL] 2007 Season Well, preseason is over and teams have handed down their lists of cuts to trim the roster down to 53. So I figure it's time to start a new thread for people to weigh in week by week as to how they think the season is going, not only for your favorite team but across the league. ---------- Cowboys aren't getting off to a good start. QB coach Wade Wilson is out 4 games because of substance abuse, which apparantly took place last year while he was with the Bears. And the list of cuts came down, with the surprise moves of releasing CB Aaron Glenn and placing K Gramatica on IR, making 6th round pick Nick Folk the primary kicker. Also, LB Greg Ellis still hasn't come back after being diagnosed with Bursitis, which came after he had supposedly recovered from his Achilles injury last year. So I think the first 3 games are going to be a nice litmus test for the year. It's capped by a game at Chicago. That said, I still have high hopes for the year. We've got a soft schedule, only 5 games against teams that did better than 8-8. Here's hoping we capitalize on it. |

| We bawlin boi! | Goddamn, I have no clue what to expect from my Steelers this season. They lost Cowher, Wishenhunt, and Russ Grimm on the coaching staff, with a new untested head coach. I like Tomlin a lot so far, hes got the Steeler mentality, but them opening up the offense to throw the ball a ton is going to be something new for this team. Ben is 18-0 in games he had to throw less than 21 attempts (like 1-8 in games he thew more than that), and I think its going to be a big mistake to completely turn the offense on its head. So many question marks. Did ben recover fully from that crash, appendectomy, the last season? The new coaching staff, Parker even though he made the pro bowl is very hit or miss week to week, losses on defense, and the retirement of pro bowl center Jeff Hartings are all going to hurt and its completely up in the air right now if they can recover this season. As for the rest of the league, Chicago, Indy, New England, New Orleans, SD are all solid choices to pick for a trip to the big game. Really interested to see how some of the new rookies like Quinn, Russel, and Adrian Peterson will do. I think the Vikings got a stud with AP, if he stays healthy. Cant wait to get it kicked off though, wishful thinking wants to tell me last year was just a fluke for Pittsburgh, but I think deep down the Steeler fans know its going be a rebuilding (re-tooling is probably a better choice) process since the Super Bowl team.

| Personally, I'm kind of curious to see what team picks up Byron Leftwich. Some people are predicting the Falcons, but I'm not so sure. From a lot of accounts, Joey Harrington is actually fitting in with the new offensive scheme and should have his best NFL season. Raiders would've picked him up a while back I think if they didn't nab Culpepper. |

| We bawlin boi! | Living in Atlanta, it seems he is getting a lot of buzz here (Harrington). I think a lot of people are skeptical its preseason, but, after enduring the latest Michael Vick Experience(tm), this city could use a big boost. Falcons are my #2 team, and being in a relatively weak conference should help them out. If anything, this whole Vick thing should help the Falcons and be a blessing in disguise. He was overrated, unproductive, and completely inconsistent his time here...oh..and a giant waste of money. What sucks is there is a lot of class on this team, and that the Falcons get a giant smudge on their image since people now associate Vick with the organization.

| I've got to admit, with Harrison AND Seymour out for 6 games, I'm a bit worried. Our defense could be a bit shaky so some guys will have to step up, or our offense just has to score 40 points a game like it should be able to. |

| I am excited about finally getting a decent coach for the Cardinals, and not some washed up has been. Although it is hard to get excited for the Cardinals, I mean they should have done well last year, but for some reason every year they keep on sucking. Losing Okefeor(sp?) in preason sucks balls =( It will be an interesting division this year with the 49ers looking good and you also have the Seahawks. You should see the stat change for Frank Gore on madden 08 vs 07 hehe. Last edited by Rythonn : 09-05-2007 at 12:23 AM. |

| I'm confident about the Eagles this year. I am not so sure about fricking releasing Trotter - personally, I think that was ridiculous, leaving that position to the likes of Omar 'WTF' Gaither, but the Eagles did get fricking slashed on the ground last year. As long as Westbrook stays healthy - always the big if - and McNabb stays in there, I can see my beloved Eagles taking that division again and marching deep into playoffs. Leave the offense in the hands of the likes of AJ McFeeley Speedy Delivery and Kevin Corn on the Kolb, or god forbid Corell Suckhalter and its game over in Philly. |

| Am hoping for, at least, an 8-8 season for my Giants, but with Tiki Barber gone (read 34% of our offense) that's going to be hard Either Eli Manning matures this season and lives up to the hype or we will have to have a couple of seasons rebuilding. I think this is Coughlin's last year, we'll see how it goes, but am not keeping my hopes up, am going to set the bar pretty low and hope I get surprised.
