I must say that was a lot more entertaining than i thought it would be. Sadly you saw typical chelsea 2nd half and they were made to pay. Babel's goal had me sweating those last 4 mins even more than the onset of extra time

I wonder how agitated UEFA will get over this. They love cup diversity and having an all English final when the cup final is all the way in Russia is probably not their dream. I mean, obviously a Turkish side won't make the final, but from a supporter standpoint, I think this is less than desirable for them.

We have to aim for an all english semi-final next year. My football knowledge is fuzzy, is it possible to have 4 english teams in the league? Otherwise we can use celtic/rangers

I feel the same about those. All league finals Personally, I think it's been a pretty down year for club football in Europe. The premiership is solid, but Arsenal are the only of the big 4 to make huge strides compared to last year and most of that has to do with Chelsea and united having a drop off in quality. Real Madrid nor Barcelona are both having an off year and compared to last year, Inter have not looked nearly as strong. Those are the three biggest leagues in Europe and all of them had down years.

So yeah, let's see how everything pans out next year. I think all the three leagues are poised to have huge bounce back years. I'm also aware I used a small sample size using the biggest clubs, but let's be honest, no one other than the top clubs from those 3 leagues have a realistic shot at winning Europe due to their income.

Yes, the top 4 teams from the Premiership gain entry into the CL. Arsenal was bumped in the quarters by Liverpool.

There's seeding, so that they won't face each other in the group stage, but once its in the knockout, all bets are off.

Also when the 2nd round bracket is done no 2 sides from the same league can face each other.

Actually, a Turkish side has already won two European titles; the UEFA cup and the Super Cup so I would say it is possible.

However, I am sure UEFA would much rather have a Spanish or an Italian team in the final over a Turkish team. People would like to see big names in the finals. Big names are big ''cash-in''s for all sorts of things; TV revenues, merchandising, popularity etc. So, I do not think UEFA is unhappy with two English teams making it to the finals. An Italian or a Spanish side to replace either team would have been more preferable but I am sure they are not complaining.
