+1 Internets | (I'm a neutral if no one guessed by now) Arsenal? I tried getting into watching them the last couple of months, but they overpass so much. Reminds me of M.United at the beginning of the season without Rooney & Ronaldo, they looked a bit lost in how to score. They have nice moments where they appear to look like water as they pass the ball around, but M.United this season - their goal tally would say to me they are a bit more entertaining. Though they are a frustrating bunch sometimes when all the chances they create lack the final dutch touch. Chelsea bore me for some reason but I enjoy alot of the middle tier teams this season, they all steadily improved with that 30m cash injection and have made every match tough for the top 3 and worth watching. Tonight won't be like the first leg, I can imagine he'll play their 2nd midfielders and give Pique another run in. Could go horribly wrong if Roma start very strong which would make great entertainment.

| BUBBLES THE MONKEY!!! | Arsenal has always been about passing the ball to find that one opening. It's not that they're lost, it's just their style. Also, as they showed yesterday with their second goal, they're the quickest counter attacking team maybe in all of Europe. I can't count the amount of times I've seen them get all the way down on a bad corner and all the sudden they've got a 5 on 2 break resulting in a goal. I'm still upset really. Not so much that they lost but how they lost, the more I saw the Toure play, the more I began to think it probably wasn't the surefire penalty I thought it was. The guy went down in a heap after Toure barely touched him. It looked a lot worse on live TV. |

Yeah, I agree with you on the penalty decision; it was a cheap call. I am not saying he dived but he surely went down quitely easily. It shouldn't have been a penalty.

This season has been such an epic collapse for us. My dad is a Mets fan and last year was still pretty fresh in his mind. Now, you may say we didn't have Man U beat, but if you do, you're in denial. They had lost a match and we had a chance to literally go 7 clear on them. Well, we got a draw and it all went down hill from there. We win that game, the collapse probably doesn't ensue and even if we draw those two Liverpool games, Man U only gets 2 points on us going into the clash at OT. Okay, I need to stop talking about this before I start slamming my head against the desk.

| from what i've seen pretty much everyone is in agreement... live the tackle looked much, much worse than it did once you saw the replay. Toure was flailing both arms like a madman and, although you can see in the replay he barely touches him, full speed it looked bad enough for a call. I'm very, very upset that I have to go to class instead of watching man u roma. very upset. |

| Ahh the tired old luck argument. Welcome to football, bad decisions made against you will balance themselves out with lucky decisions made in your favour over the course of the season. Remember Liverpool v Chelsea and the penalty that absolutely should not have been given at the start of the season. Considering Liverpool won it in 2005, got to the final in 2007 and are in another semi final in 2008. and have beat the likes of Juventus, Inter, AC, Barcelona, Chelsea x2 I think that's evidence enough that Benitez is a tactical genius when it comes to Europe, that the team have the experience necessary and as evidenced again last night European nights at Anfield really have no equivalent elsewhere in the world |

I am very curious to know and I really can't find the reason for this. How come Liverpool has such an abysmal performance in the Premiership for ummm...a long time ? You guys seem to do just fine when it comes to Europe...but the premiership? Some results are quite shocking..

| remember the 2005 goal that wasn't a goal? as a sidenote the 2nd leg of Man Utd and Roma has been interesting, mostly Man Utd (nice to see Park and Tevez working together instead of omg it C.Ronaldo) its a keepers match so far, iffy penalty wasted but a lot of good saves on each side further sidenote looks like Ferdinand(sp) is gonna be coming off soon, started strong but looks like his injury is still hanging around. I'm not expecting him to come back at half if he makes it these next 8+mins Last edited by Waedar : 04-09-2008 at 12:29 PM. |

| Ah how predictable, the 2005 goal that wasnt a goal argument, you conveniently forget (or are too stupid to realise) that Cech would have been sent off if the goal had not been given for taking out Baros. That would have meant playing the remaining 80 or so minutes with 10 men and a reserve goalkeeper. You also forget that over 180mins Chelsea failed to score a single goal, Gudjohnsen missing the best chance 6minutes into injury time from 6yds out. Honestly you overseas fans that have latched onto the top 4 teams really do make me laugh, and just as Akileese's stupidity made last nights result even sweeter I have every confidence that knocking Chelsea out will be just as sweet for the same reasons |
