Barcelona were definately interested in Lampard towards the end of last season. Ricky came out and said it ffs. He is not worth the money though. For him to be 'great' he'd have to be a great clutch player - which he isn't. He just cannot pull it out of the bag like Gerrard can, which is what his game is really missing.

The new sexy rumor out of england is a 100 million pound deal for Kaka to Chelsea. Milan debunked it this morning though. There's no way they'd sell him even for that much. They're pretty much nothing without him.

Yeah? Why didn't they buy him then dipshit? If a club like Barcelona want a player they get that player, only a few clubs can resist Barcelona and Chelsea aren't one of them. Rikhard was probably just talking shit to try and unsettle the Chelsea team, since he hates them and all.

Chelski didn't want to sell. Jose wasn't going to sell someone who was so important to their league titles over the years. Now I say he's gone though. The first to go will be Ballack in January since he's not even on the CL roster.

So I was reading the greatest teams of all time thread and was wondering what you all thought were the greatest football teams of all time. If anyone says that Real Madrid Galacticos team I'll smack them with a stick lol

It's very difficult to name a best football team. The competition is so strong in the domestic game. I suppose the "never win anything with kids" team of Manchester Utd was pretty sensational. Or perhaps the european domination by 'that' Liverpool team. It's really tough, I think my knowledge just isn't strong enough to say.

I'd love to say the Invincibles from Arsenal, but while they did go 49 unbeaten, they also had a substantial amount of draws. I think that was one of the best premiership sides though. Lehman was still a child, but he was also still a great keeper. I'd really have no clue as to who some of the best league clubs of all time were. I haven't studied club history that much. I do however remember going to the 94 WC final and seeing a fantastic game (followed by Baggio cranking it off the cross bar). It's also hilarious that he's back and fit and he's not in goal. I smell a January transfer. I and many Gunners supporters have been calling for his head for a while and it's finally happened.

finding a best team of all for football well be hard because each domestic league would want the honor associated with their football (ie the wonderful debate that the EPL is the best league in Europe)

| There is no best league. That's why we have the CL to decide which team is the best (even though it doesn't work). edit: SHIT! RVP injured his knee :\ Van Persie ended the match with a knee-injury after an opponent pulled him down after a Sneijder cornerkick. It’s as yet unclear how serious the damage is. I'm hoping it's minor. If he was going to get hurt, why couldn't he do it in the 1st leg of games on saturday/sunday? Ugh. This is bad. Now we've gotta start Eduardo...and like a WEEK FROM OUR HUGE CLASH WITH THE REDS ![]()

Chelsea, be afraid. Drogba has publicly announced his desire to quit Chelsea. Many predicted he and Lamps would be the most angry with Jose's departure, but now it's been proved. Also, it seems RVP may be out a month max. Not too bad really. It's definitely not an ideal situation, but we can manage for 3-4 weeks.
