Boston looks very strong on paper now. Hell, the whole East is starting to come around again.

Besides Boston, who has made any significant additions?

Miami will be healthy and added a pretty strong PG.

Chicago is looking good.

Toronto should be better aswell.

Not every team needs 'significant additions' to be good. The Bulls are loaded with young talent and will only get better with time. Toronto isn't looking bad.. and neither are the Wizards. The Heat, when healthy, are as good as anyone. Then you have Detroit, Cleveland and a few others that may improve with the offseason. I am not saying that any of them are going to be able to run over the West's elite 3 but it won't be a joke of a league either.

Thats hilarious, Nash is a good team defender, he may not be a great oen on one defender but he probably takes more charges than anyone at his position in the league. Parker is no better a one on one defender than Nash, he just gets easier assignments from his coach cause they have Bowen to take the PG's he can't cover (oh probably 1/2 of them) and Duncan to protect the lane when he lets people by.

As far as the the Celtics needing to fill thier bench, they will have to fill their roster through free agency using their mid level exception, their bi-annual exception, and the veteran minimum.

Players avalaible list looks like this: Troy Hudson, Brevin Knight, PJ Brown, Earl Boykins, Ruben Patterson, Chris Webber, James Posey, Ime Udoka, Melvin Ely, Charlie Bell, Rafael Araujo, Eddie Jones, Corliss Williamson, Brian Skinner.

Those are the guys you're looking at to fill the 7,8,9 spots on your bench.

Knight would be a smart pickup at PG, Brown and Posey are good defenders who can put in time on the frontline and play off of star players really well.

none of those players are going to play for the minimum. when you're in the luxury tax you have to pay $1 for every $1 you're over. so even signing someone like Knight to a cheap $4m/year deal or so would cost them $8. I'm pretty sure they're going after minimum salary guys

They have some exceptions though that if I'm not mistaken don't count against the luxury tax. Even if it did, I'm sure the Celtics are prepared to spend for the chance to win right now. That and with those three names in Green jerseys, you might get a Laker type effect where you get some players trying to jump on the bandwagon for less money to try and get a shot at the finals.

In China you get a pretty good taste of what the NBA landscape is like. In this country nearly every boy and young adult own multiple NBA jerseys. In over 2 and a half years living here, and having seen thousands upon thousands of NBA jerseys I never once saw a Celtics jersey. Until the trade that is, now I am seeing a lot of Garnett jerseys on the streets with his name and number (many times the number is wrong haha). Of course you have to remember, out of every 100 jerseys you see, only 1 or 2 are authentic....

ESPN - Miller says he's pondering comeback with Celtics - NBA

Haha. I would laugh if he did come back and the Celtics didnt even make it out of the first round.

Celtics talking to Reggie Miller about coming back. Now if they can get someone to pass all these scorers the ball they might contend
