  | Jon Lester makes first start coming back from Cancer ESPN - McAdam: Cancer-free Lester gets his second chance - MLB Sean McAdam wrote a great piece about it. Last summer Lester was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma. In December the doctors had ruled he was cancer-free (non-hodgkins lymphoma has a very high cure rate so his chances were very good). The Sox were cautious with him for a while. With Tavarez stinking up the joint lately, they finally brought him up for his first start since last year. It's nice to see a feel good story in sports with all the terrible stuff that's been going on with pro athletes lately.
