Ring of Honor We all admit Wrestling isn't really a sport, but hey, close enough. Anyone here in the northeast or Ohio/Illinois/michigan parts follow it or go to shows? I try to go to about 6 shows a year (only 2 so far, but I'm going the 24th and the 25th of August in Hartford/NYC). Basically ROH is an indy fed that's been around for a little over 5 years. They run shows in NJ, NY, CT, MA, PA, OH, MI, and, Chicago. Their known for actually having decent wrestling and being fairly stiff about it. Most of the guys on TNA got their exposure in ROH (and some in CZW as well). It's a great alternative for anyone who despises WWE or TNA. Any fans here?

I casually follow pro wrestling, I find the behind the scenes between the different groups more interesting than the product they usually put out. RoH has been producing a lot of talent (Samoa Joe immediately comes to mind), but I've never actually seen any of their shows. TNA > WWE

Check out their DVDs. The one's I can recommend for a casual fan is: Supercard of Honor II (the cage match is tremendous as is the six man dragon gate tag) 5th year festival finale in liverpool (nigel mcguinness vs jimmy rave fight without honor which is essentially a street fight and has the one of the sickest bumps I've ever seen someone take) Glory By Honor V night 2 (better show than Night 1 which was held in the tent in CT under a fucking MONSOON). Any of those three are great, but if I had to pick one, definitely the 5th year finale because it has Joe's final match and the briscoe vs briscoe match. It has two Match of the Year candidates in one show as well as Joe's final ROH match.

A friend of mine is in a ohio fed that airs on Sports Time Ohio, he was saying how he wanted to try and get a match with one of the guys in ROH to show he has some talent, I hear they dont make shit money wise though.

Well, most of their talent just signed new 2 year contracts and they actually gave them medical coverage as part of it (which may compensate for making less money). ROH itself makes a very substantial amount of money for an indy fed. Hell, just by making a dollar they're doing better than TNA who has never come close to turning a profit. I was talking to Nigel McGuinness at the last hartford show (he was hurt and couldn't wrestle so he was at the merch table). He said he makes a pretty good living between indy promotions and Japan.

If anyone would like to check some stuff out, I have 3 invites to pro wrestling torrents (PWT) and they have a dedicated ROH section. I'm seeding the two new shows right (the double shot and the 7.16 japan show). If you want an invite message me, plus please keep above a .75 ratio so I don't get banned with you :P

Haven't started watching ROH yet, wrestling as a whole isn't common here in Sweden(no tv exposure) so I am stuck with what I can get a hold of, which is easy for WWE, TNA but I haven't been able to get a hold of enough ROH to start following it yet though. Anyone in general interested in wrestling, and ROH especially i'd recomend watching Tslay1974 vids on youtube. Didn't start watching Wrestling till 06, but have been able to get alot of info through this guy. YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

The hartford show is gonna sell out. We've got a 3 way elimination title match (moot because Morishima is defending against Danielson the next night and there is NO WAY he loses before that match. We still have two cages, the best rivalry in wrestling (Briscoes vs steen and generico), and Strong vs Evans in a cage also. October 6th Edison NJ is the 4th PPV taping. Still good 3rd and 4th row seats available, but they won't last. I'm expecting Morishima to drop the belt at that show or the 3rd PPV show.
