| alright, i'm back. figured i'd wait a few days, otherwise i'd probably be screaming through my keyboard. firstly, kudos to lsu. they were the better team that night and showed they were superior to an osu team that tried to actually win (as opposed to last year). they deserved. with that said, i'm so fucking pissed. osu could've won that game. the gameplan was good, although i'd have liked to see a little more new plays. but sigh WHAT THE FUCK was with the 5 personal fouls and blocked field goal?! that is NOT tressel and has me very concerned going onward. i think it's the first time in history of ohio state where we had MORE offense yards than the opponent, yet still managed to lose the game. it seems every one of those penalties were huge momentum shifts in lsu's favor. osu only had 3 seniors though, as opposed to lsu's what 10? i think that's what it ultimately came down to. lsu had the maturity to come back from the initial 10-0. once it was 10-10+, osu didn't have the senior leadership necessary to fight back. and that's really the bottom line. we were picked to be 3rd in big ten this year. we had just too many fresh and sophs and first year starter at qb. we really should've have been there. osu definitely overachieved this year. i'm proud they made it that far with so much inexperience at so many positions. it just obviously fucking sucks losing it AGAIN. the worst part of it all though is espn and their bandwagon of cronies churping their agenda and using this as evidence to support their tardfuck ideas. there was absolutely no talent or speed difference monday night.. it boiled down to senior leadership and a gut check that lsu won. concerning changes? i think the only thing i would change would be to get a real offense coordinator. tressel tries to do way too much; he's only 1 person. and i still don't give credit to miles. he's a great motivator, but that's where it stops (bo pelini won that game.. a buckeye. shame on him!). the ONE positive i take from monday is beanie wells. he was by far and ahead the best player on that field, just too bad he wasn't on the best team. that stiff arm was stuff of legend. and he's back next year. 3rd time's the charm? hahaha. ps, taking me awhile to read back through pages. you guys think i flaked or something? double ps, jesus guys over 10 pages worth. | The hate is what makes it fun for the rest of us. Look at me, I'm not even a CFB fan and yet I hate you enough to post in this thread. That's true love for you right there. /huggles

| re: on a playoff system, espn, and exactly what is going on in cfb. there was a very long post on a message board i frequent concerning the history of espn and college football. i really wish i could find (i'll look), but it's buried deep. it had a very informative but brief bcs era history of espn, how it's evolved (i use this term LOOSELY), and what their agenda is and how it's changed. espn does have an agenda. whether it's trickled down from the top or just a part of the corp culture, i don't know. i do know the talking heads are generally given a view, and they are generally advised to stay within that view. you can see proof of this in mark may's comments. it's not that he doesn't like ohio state, but it's so far above what any rational normal human would say, that it's obvious it's almost script. numerous times he's even laughed at himself when he makes those remarks. now, the big ten network enters on stage. this really murks this situation because it's taking revenue and viewership away from espn/abc. big10 network had exclusive rights to one major osu game (osu vs wisc) among others. obviously they weren't thrilled about this. and they even more obviously do not want the big10 network to succeed. if it does, other confs could follow suit. this ABSOLUTELY plays a major factor in their overall market strategy. and this has to trickle down into everything, from mark may's wtf comments to even the front page of espn.com. another example is when michigan beat florida, it wasn't even on the frontpage. there was a little sidebar video, and that's it. there's other history too. namely, some issues with the midwest vs espn and how they have usually endeared themselves to viewership on the coasts, but i'd have to dig that post up to cite details. to go even further, back in 97, espn was a MAJOR proponent of the bcs system. they were clamoring for it (for the money it would bring obviously). now, they hate it and want a playoff. again, this GUARANTEED is a bullet point on some business strategy sheet in some corporate office because the money a playoff would bring would be tenfold moreso than the bcs. fox has the rights to air the bcs games, too. so.. concerning a playoff, there are some legit criticisms for the bcs and i believe it needs to be changed (only a little), and indeed there are some journalists who care and write as such. but it's MOSTLY about money. ps @ gerbil, people are jumping off the buckeye bandwagon in droves so there's room for you! i gotcha seat.
