| Yeah, seriously, snore. Who gives a shit about Tim Tebow? Negative 15 yards rushing against Georgia, and he still gets 2 TDs? If that doesn't show you it's all situational I don't know what will. |

+2 Internets | We Gators just thought we'd take the year off with championships and snag a heisman, it's been a while since we got one of those. We're letting some other SEC team hold onto the championship this year until we want it back. PS -14 rushing yards because sacks count against rushing totals in college, versus passing yards in the pros. But that was probably his worst game. If he'd have been healthy I think we'd be in the nat'l title again =/ Not that we'd deserve it by any stretch. |

Seriously, take away the names, take away what year they are and line the numbers up. Look at his game to game performance, he played more consistently than any of the other Heisman candidates and put up gaudy numbers on top of it. After the 1993 anal rape we took from Florida, I have no love for that team, but c'mon, there was no better player in college football this year. McFadden had a few bad games this year, but I wouldnt have been upset if he had won either (plus hes a really good kid on top of it).

| heisman has really become a sham, nothing but a media hype award. the problem is the stats they squawk about on tv are arbitrary. it's just whom they decide to squawk about. they talk about tebow's 51 tds. okay. brennan threw for 58 last year and ran for 5 more. where was espn for those 63 tds? they then create this milestone 20 rushing, 20 passing tds. okay. where were they when vince young became the only guy to rush for over 1000 and pass for over 3? they were pimping reggie bush that year. guess who won. |

| Yeah averaging 2 rushing TDs and 3 passing TDs a game is pretty mediocre. Nothing special at all. ![]()

| Romo is a manwhore | He's saying that it generally goes to whomever gets the most media attention to whatever absurd stat combination said Heisman candidate is touting during that particular year. And yes, Heisman is a sham. It goes to the numbers positions. Over 90% of the winners have been Halfbacks and Quarterbacks. 2 Ends, 2 Fullbacks, 2 Wide Receivers, and 1 Safety who doubled as a Halfback. Put up gaudy stats? Heisman candidate!!! |

| Isn't that what the Heisman is though? For the best player that year? Best players usually make plays and making plays usually increases your stats. I agree that defensive players often get neglected entirely and certain skill positions don't get proper consideration.. but QBs and RBs are the game makers and game breakers so it makes sense that they win it the most often.

| We bawlin boi! | Yep, its just how it is. The QB and RB are touching the ball nearly every play or every other play, so they get most of the notice. It takes a combination of two others, like Charles Woodson who played CB and WR, where he affected the game on both sides to get notice.

| it's not that colt is better. it's that they talk about tebow's numbers, but brennan's numbers are just as good. but they pick and choose the category. why did bush win above young? if you wanna talk about the better player, that's subjective. if you wanna throw out numbers, plenty of people have those. tebow's numbers came from inferior competition just like brennan's. it's just whomever the hype train decides to push. |
