osu still hasn't given up a touchdown yet. the defense is great, but the o didn't show up in the 1st half but decided to in the 2nd. we'll see how good the offense is at washington.

lol nearly forgot about the rampant OSU fanboism from Dumar last year, seems toned down this year.

They haven't given up a TD against Youngstown State and Akron, awesome man!

Penn State looking good against Notre Dame. If they get better offensively as the season progresses they're going to surprise some people. They're a beast defensively.

everyone is playing cupcakes these 1st two games (except a few like cal/tenn), and almost every game has been high scoring no D clusterfucks on both sides. so yea its a congrats to osu's D. osu's O otoh is another story.

like i said, if osu's O matures enough to beat washington and further then we have a good team. otherwise the D will keep us in most games this season. no homerism whatsoever

Looks like Wisconsin and Penn St will be the top teams in that conference from what I've seen so far.

LSU is absolutely pounding VT, no surprise though to me really. Their defense down in Baton Rouge is just down right scary, but then again thats the calling card of the SEC. I was trying to place it then it came to me, LSU's defense reminds me a lot of those Miami Hurricane defenses back in the late 80s early 90s.

As a WVU fan I can only hope that that conference somehow proves too tough for maybe a fluke win against LSU, or they somehow lose the SEC championship game. Even if we run the table I dont see us breaking number 3, and we will most likely drop a couple spots. A more likely scenario is USC loses before they do though in my opinion, simply because USC has a brutal schedule on the road.

WVU blew out Marshall late today but it took 4 quarters to do it. Our defense is full of suck and really I don't think right now we deserve the #3 spot. This stupid as fuck 3-3-5 stack defense we run only works if you have insanely physically talented safeties that can double as linebackers, and we simply dont recruit that kind of talent on defense. If we somehow run the table this year, its going to be on the legs of Slaton,White, and Devine. This fucking freshman is just freaky good--5 touches today for 76 yards rushing and 2 TDs. Anyways, that's my take so far. I hope South Florida keeps kicking Auburns ass, the big east is putting out some quality teams this year once again. Fuck, even Cincinatti is going to be a team to look out for, I guarantee you they upset one of the ranked big east teams this season (hopefully not mine). Oklahoma looked good too, thought that game would be close.

Back to more football and beer~

I agree that WVU is very overrated. They seem more like a 12-15 team to me right now. And that might be generous.

And yes, GEAUX TIGERS!!!! With USC off this week, a huge win over #9 should put them at #1.

In North Carolina, College Football is just something to pass the time while we wait for College Basketball.

True Everyone is playing non top 25 teams for the most part. Though being from the south I have seen a lot of Big XII games today. Texas A&M playing Fresno State isn't a cupcake, Texas against TCU, Nebraska playing Wake Forest (ACC Champion) on the road isn't a cupcake, Oklahoma beating the shit out of Miami and Colorado playing ASU on the road after playing CSU (who almost beat Cal who stomped Tenn) just off the top of my head. That's just the big 12 alone (I live in Houston so I follow this conference a lot more). Man is the conference looking strong as hell though.

Alright I guess... though you guys are pretty average there too so I don't know why that would be the case

WVU is a Top 10 team to me for sure. Their defense (along with Louisville's) is very very iffy. Once WVU gets more comfortable throwing they won't look so 1 dimension. When Slaton was doing shit in the first half the team looked average a lot on offense. Even with that they were scoring, but they couldn't stop Marshall for a while.. not good

12-15? No way, I wasn't implying that badly, I think they're still top 5. I think WVUs offense can match up with anyones defense, put anyone in there--including LSU =p. Rodriguez is the master of the spread offense (which he developed at Glenville State), and remember, Georgia paid a fucking price for thinking lawl SEC defense will roll this big east team when White and Slaton were freshmen. This offense completely changes how most teams are forced to play you, which is really the beauty of it--it creates huge matchup problems and can force you to change how you scheme when its not some slow as fuck dropback QB you are used to playing.

This offense can (imo) put any team in the nation behind and fast if its hitting on all cylinders, and if they roll up enough points fast your offense turns 1 dimensional to play catchup. Other than Oklahoma, the rest of the offenses I've seen so far look like shit (including USC and LSU). Our season will depend on White/Slaton staying healthy really. Most teams, including SEC ones never see a spread offense, and certainly not one as good as this one is when its clicking. If our defense improves (and it needs to improve a lot), there is no question in my mind this team can play with anyone.

After watching that Marshall game, I'm not convinced. A stronger team wouldn't have worn down after 3 quarters.. and if Marshall could match them that long, Oklahoma, USC, LSU, and several others easily could. WVUs defense needs to improve A LOT to be a legit top 3 team. 12-15 may be harsh, but lower 10 is probably reasonable.

I'd like to see USC drop a game or two and LSU-WVU meet in the title game for a definite answer.

I'd rather play USC, no home field advantage for you! =p

Edit: And yea the Marshall game was shitty, they seemed like they were looking past them/overconfident, but finally decided to wake up in the 2nd half and poured on like 40 points in no time.
