| usc has the entire west coast to get talent. no other pac10 school even has a chance. back on the east coast, you've got tons of sec schools in the south competing with each other, and tons of big10 schools in the north competing with each other. petey pretty much has the entire west coast to himself. it's not gonna change until more pac10 schools step up. ucla and oregon are making baby steps. |

+1 Internets | Oregon sucks balls and will never be anything more than a walking Nike advertisement. Cal, UCLA, and Oregon State are likely the next Pac-10 schools to start having success (Cal is already there). The only problem is that the only way two Pac-10 teams could play in BCS games is if one is in the National Championship game. Otherwise you'll have overrated "popular" programs taking their spots because they bring in more money (see: Michigan, Notre Dame). Luckily both of those teams are pretty much out already (I doubt Michigan will run the table the rest of the season). |

| We bawlin boi! | I think Rutgers is another example of that. Im pretty sure they started way the fuck out of the top 25 last year.

I don't think Arkansas could have leapfrogged Michigan if they'd have won out, but you obviously do, so we'll just have to disagree there. In the meantime what the fuck is up with Louisville? I mean I know the defense is bad, but 40 points to middle tennessee bad? I continue to be excited about UC this year. I think the Big East could come down to Cincy vs. WV late in the season. It's sad to go to a bearcats game though and see the stadium half full, but $15 tickets and no lines for what will probably be a top 25 team in a few weeks...that has got to be one of the best deals in college. | |

| We bawlin boi! | Uh, at one point they were in the talks about possibly making the NC game. Rutgers was in the top 10 after beating Louisville and going into late November undefeated, they could have been in the big game if they had run the table with some other teams losing. I remember seeing the whatif segment last year showing who could be in the national championship game and what it likely took for them to get there. At that point in time, with certain teams losing at the end of the season and RU going undefeated, it was still very possible. They choked late in the season though and lost to Cincinatti and then WVU. Point is, they were way the fuck out of the top 25 and could have played for the NC if the chips fell right.

| It is definitely a lot harder for a non-BCS school to come out of nowhere and make it though, but certainly not impossible. If they go undefeated and happen to play a few ranked teams along the way then they have just as good of a shot as anyone. Usually the reason they don't make it is that they don't play enough good teams. Boise state played 5 bowl bound teams, but only one was a BCS team (Oregon State), 3 of them were fellow WAC schools including Hawaii who would play in the Hawaii bowl with no wins, and none of them were ranked. |

| Preseason polls are the reason Auburn didn't get to play USC in the title game a few years ago instead of Oklahoma. They started that year just outside the top 25, ran the table and because they were so far behind in the polls from starting so low that year, when Oklahoma lost the Big-12 title game they didn't leapfrog them like they should have. |

| Um, Oklahoma was undefeated until the BCS title game in 2004. That was the year we had 3 undefeated teams until the very end. It was really a coin flip for that one and both schools had a good argument to make. That isn't a preseason poll problem, it's a bowl setup (lack of playoffs) problem. |

| We bawlin boi! | Poor Michigan.... Oregon is kicking the living shit out of them at the big house. Someone tell Michigan this is the next millenium and what the spread offense does, apparently they still have no clue what that offense is/does since they looked like a bunch of deer trapped in headlights. Oregon has 395 yards of offense with 3 mins left in the first half against their D, I wish we played them at the big house.
