[NBA] Ref fixed Games

FanNation | Truth&Rumors | Ref allegedly fixed NBA games

Shocker. Explains how we didn't see Pistons v. Suns this year like we should have.

"David Stern was very upset at hearing this news, fixing games is his job." :P

Thank god we didnt have to watch that. However ref's fixing games doesnt surprise me in the NBA, considering how screwed up some of the refs are anyway. Sad tho.

Pistons vs. Suns would have been better than what we got...

Pistons are just as boring to watch as the spurs. Not saying they are not a good team, but watching phoenix is always fun.

Dirty refs in the NBA? No way!

Well at least this may bring about the crackdown that is long overdue.

I hope this signals the end of the league as a serious sporting organization. I truely hope it is swatted down to NHL status, where the only time you hear about it at all is when the playoffs are going on. And even then, you only get 10min a night on Sports Center devoted to it.

That won't happen. Basketball has too much of a following. One of the reasons that hockey isn't huge is that it isn't a sport where you can just go outside and start emulating your favorite player at will. Hell, I don't even know of a single hockey rink within 100 miles and the only one there is one of those ECHL teams arena. On the flip side I can walk outside and 2 doors down from me someone has turned their driveway into a halfcourt and across the street is an elementary school with a large area with 4 buckets.

ESPN - FBI probes allegations that NBA ref bet on games - NBA

I just really hope no wins or losses were part of this. I give two shits about the spread since I don't bet on the NBA, but if any games changed a win/loss record for a team this shit is really going to be bad. Not that it already isn't. Though I guess if he reffed the entire game of one he bet on there's no way to know how much it impacted. This is way worse than the shit pete rose did to me

The NBA will never reach the point of the NHL while it can still sell shoes.

I have no illusions that it will actually happen. Like I said... I HOPE. The odds are... well... why don't we ask an NBA ref?

At least the NHL is improving their position every year since the lockout. The salary cap has gone up each season based on revenue also going up.

Of course, when you are down so low all you can go is up...
