I can't blame Nike either way. If they drop him and he is guilty, they come out looking good. If they keep him and he is innocent they can say how much they believe in their clients and how no one is guilty until proven guilty. On the flip side, if they drop him and he is innocent it could scare off future clients who worry they may get dropped at the first false charge and if they keep him and he is guilty they can just drop him when he is convicted and say they needed to be sure. Nike can't lose and this isn't going to affect their sales one bit.

Living in Georgia, I can tell you Vick is -not- immensely popular here. In fact, most of our talk shows revolve around on WTF Atlanta was thinking for letting Matt Schaub go. There's also rumblings for DJ Shockley to start since a lot of the Bulldog fans want to see him play, and a lot of people don't put much faith on our other QB options.

Either way, this was Vick's last year in Atlanta, so please don't feed some "he's popular in Atlanta" bullshit to me. He had his opportunities, and he's fucked up every single time. It's pretty pathetic.

Haha I love people who live around insane expectations. I live in Houston and the general census of the people here is WTF is Matt Schaub doing here. You guys got really good value for a guy who has shown nothing. Moving up two spots in the top 10 and two 2nd round picks. Shit Trent Green was traded for a 5th round pick, Moss a 4th maybe? Culpepper and Carr flat out cut from their teams. You have got to be kidding. You'd be crazy to pass up that trade, you guys raped our ass good on that one

Not to mention you guys are in what quickly became one of the hardest divisions in football with NO's Drew Brees signing. Vick keeps you in lots of games and shit you were in an NFC Championship not that long ago.

To be fair, in the few games Schaub went in for Vick he performed pretty well. He's a solid quarterback, now it is true that whether or not he is good to go for starter duty is a whole 'nother question. Should be interesting though.

Maybe you guys will lose enough where Petrino can draft his own QB next year.

Jeff George had more talent in his pinky finger than Vick has in his whole body. The Smiths just never gave him the folks he needed to win. When they finally did build a decent team they went to the Super Bowl. Then they got Vick as one of the final pieces for their "Dynasty". However, Vick ended up being a bust. He's never won a big game, ever. Players like that are a dime a dozen. Sometimes they're the talk of the town, but eventually when enough people realize they never won anything they fall into the cracks and are never talked about much again. Every so often some franchise thinks "Hey, he can run fast so we'll win!" Tell that to Slash, Cunningham, and the slew of other no-talent QB's who could rush but could never win the big-game. It's been proven time and time again, you need the package, not some one-note wonder.

Either way, I think Vick's rules should be implemented upon him as fair justice. Everytime he blows a toss, or loses a game, drown and electrocute his dumb-ass.

Also should note that analysts feel the real reason why Nike has yet to release Michael Vick has more to do with monetary reasons (IE compensation for early termination of the contract) and less to do with moral reasons. The only way they can release Michael Vick from his contract is on a conviction, if they were to let him go early, they would have to pay the full value of the contract.

Shit Manning never even got to one until this year, he's older and had All-Pro WRs on his team. Not that I think Vick is in my Top 10 of QBs I'd build a franchise with or anything but I think you're being unfair towards his game. Plus... outside of Crumpler can the players in Atlanta even catch footballs? What is "the package" to you? Because back to Peyton that guy is about as mobile as the statue of liberty, so he has arm str and accuracy but there are parts of his package MIA too. Favre has the arm str and accuracy and can move a little but doesn't have the pieces around him. Shit Rex "I can win if I don't throw 3INTs" Grossman went to a superbowl. No, what you need is a team in the NFL. There are times when your QB can even be your one of your weakest pieces (bears, steelers).

On a related note, I hope someone shoots and hangs him. Most people are avid pet loyalists and love their animals. I'm one of them. I find shit like this to be both angering and disturbing to begin with (fighting). The whole torturing, killing them pissed me off even more. I hope they send him to jail for a long fucking time. They should be able to considering the outstanding amount of evidence they have against him.

Nost NFL fans are pet lovers as well I bet. Typical red-blooded Americans who work all week and watch football on the weekends. Nothing bodes well for him right now.
