RAW is a tribute to him now. It seems sorta realistic, I don't think even the WWE would stoop to make a storyline like this.

It's hard to get all choked up over the death of a pro wrestler because they just have such short life spans as it is. This is different as the news story reads as some sort of (guess) carbon monoxide poisoning and a wife and son are dead, but still.

Eh, the reason it's getting the media attention is because they're investigating it as a homicide. The whole situation is really fishy though. I can't imagine there not being some foul play involved with the way everything went. Also, Benoit is a bit of a different story. He's always been looked at as one of the "good guys" of the industry. Someone that always gave 110%, was never a steroid abuser or anything like that. While situations like Eddie Guerrero are sad, it was much more expected than this due to the lifestyle he lived with all the drugs and steroids he took (Guerrero was a relatively small man who literally shot up almost overnight in size).

This is an utter tragedy and as someone who watched wrestling while Benoit was in his prime, it's just really depressing.

As a wrestling fan, I must say this is devastating news. Chris Benoit was everything good in the Sports Entertainment bussiness. A true professional, a great performer, a great person. Would never say no to an autograph.

Sports Entertainment lost today, arguably the Greatest Wrestler of our time.

Associated Press. Acording to the police, the early assumption is that Chris killed his Wife and Kid then killed himself.


Having followed Benoit during most of his carreer, and having read alot of how he was with his family, I find this VERY VERY hard to believe, and trully hope that it is not the case.


So far the story that is know is that, Benoit contacted the WWE on saturday and said he had to fly home due to a family emergency. Unconfirmed reports say that he said they were very ill. He missed the show on Saturday due to that, later on sunday the word going around the Wrestling websites was that he was expected to be at the Vengance PPV, but that it was not a definite thing.. He did not appear at the show.... WWE alerted the Police on Monday, after not being able to Contact Benoit(Someone who was never hard to reach)..
