Henry leaving Arsenal (for real this time) Speechless to hear that he's heading to Barce for 16 MILLION FUCKING POUNDS. That's it? For one of the best strikers in the world they could only squeeze out such a small amount? I figured they could at least squeeze out 25 million out of them. In a related note for anyone who follows the prem, that's what Charlton wanted for Darren Bent. Yeah, that's comparable.

Even worse news. The reason he left was because Wenger wouldn't commit past this season. I'm really upset that he's leaving, but I think it's time. He had a miserable year lat year with about a dozen nagging injuries. We have Adebayor and Van Persie now as our 1-2 striker combo and I'm completely happy with that. As long as they can pick up one or two more guys and the young kids come through, we'll be fine. It's frustrating as an Arsenal fan to see Chelsea and United making moves to improve themselves in a huge way (Hargreaves to UTD is the first that comes to mind), but Arsenal are standing pat.

For a player with Henry's injury problems Arsenal are laughing all the way to the bank. I had a feeling this would happen and is no different from the selling of Viera last year. Henry's best years are behind him and Arsenal have Adebayor, Van Persie and Walcott. I would think that it would be prudent to spend some of the income on a striker of proven pedigree who is in the 25-27 age bracket.

Now the rumor mill is spitting out that Wenger is leaving for Barce, which is fine for me. With a completely different pair up front, I think it's time for a different management style. What bothers me is the rumors of Cesc leaving (despite the higher ups saying they wouldn't sell him for any amount), but they said the same thing about Henry. The big difference is Cesc is only 19 and he still hasn't matured yet. Silva will most likely be the captain but hey, if we can be rebuilding and still finish in the top 4, that's fine by me. Wolcott I feel will most likely end up on the wing for now rather than at striker (although he may now that Jeremi Alladiere has been sent to Boro). I think we need to go out and pick up one more lower rent striker just to come on as a sub and play when Manny and Robin get tired. I'm not really worried about Arsenal though. I trust their brass with full confidence. They were right about Viera and they're probably right about Henry. He still has 3 or 4 good years left in him, but I doubt he'll be legendary from here on out.

| Well, its all done now : BBC SPORT | Football | Europe | Henry completes move to Barcelona He is a sad loss to the Premier league as a whole. Certainly in the 8 years he graced the park in England, there were very few players who came close to his talent and none for that length of time. However last season and his injuries showed that Arsenal at least had a decent base to build up again from, losing Wenger would be a massive blow though. As for "only" 16m, if a player wants to leave, you get what you can. As for Marcus Bent for that price or more, Charlton dont want to sell and only morons with too much money (Exhibit A: West Ham) would give them that for him! I'm a Nottingham Forest supporter so a) I'm a neutral for the top teams(except hating the Car Thieves and Scum )and b) I normally keep quiet due to Forest being the worst performing former European Cup winners ever ![]()

As a Barcelona fan, I'm psyched about this. Messi, Ronaldinho, Eto'o, and now Henry as forwards? Talk about front loaded it's going to be a blast to see what they can do together. The injury probs really don't bother me and it shouldn't bother the team since they have those 4 as options if one goes down there's another to take his place plus it's easier to err on the side of caution during the course of the season. Barca is making some big moves this transfer season, pissed me off that they let Real Madrid get back in the hunt and win the goddamn league.

Eto'o will most likely be sold with the acquisition of Henry. They wanted to get rid of him last year, but no one was available. Now that they have replaced him essentially, he'll probably get sold. I heard Milan wants him.

Problem with Eto is he has the biggest ego in football and everyone knows it, he has a reputation as a player who goes to the press first when there is a problem and not to the manager. None of the major European clubs would take him i think he would most likely go to a team trying to break into that tier and he would love it as he would be the center of attention. Darren Bent was sold for 16.5 million to Tottenham today with more if they reach the champs league next season. he might be younger then Henry but to have them two players on the same valuation is just ridiculous Henry could have easily gone for 25 Million and Bent is a 8million player tops no more

They signed Eduardo Da Silva for 7.5 million pounds. He came from Dinamo Zagreb. He's 24 and has at on of potential. I'm fairly happy as now we've got 3 young ready now strikers so we can play Wolcott on the wing.

Man utd have gone fucking insane. They're paying 38 million POUNDS for Carlos Tevez. I think we have a problem now. The Sun Online - Football: Hammers OK'd Tevez deal Obviously the Sun is nothing but a bunch of rumor mongers (I live in America and even I know not to believe most of the stuff they report), but the BBC sports radio was also reporting it and they're much more reliable. If this is true, this is absolutely horrifying. Football is one of the few sports where ludicrous overpaying doesn't really exist as much as the American sports, but this is like 250 million for A-Rod level. No one player is worth this much (well, maybe Drogba, Ronaldo, or Fabregas).

Yeah, ~5.6 million pounds a year is reasonable especially considering the skill of Tevez. The man almost single handedly saved West Ham with seven goals in the last ten games, including the lone goal against Man U that prevented regulation. Put him in a dynamic offense like Man U and his threat potential will rise considerably.
