Justin Verlander gets his No hitter.

Hell of a game he pitched. Hit 102mph to the last batter. Thats just sick.

Justin was a high school star just down the street from me. Awesome to see a local guy achieve what he has in a very young career. Just wish he played for another team because American League baseball sucks.

AL sucks? Please, the American league has by far the better teams. I wish if anything it was a little more even.

He didnt say the teams suck. He sai the American League sucks. I am going to take a stab at this and say he's like me in that he hates the DH position. Am i right?

Personally, I enjoy watching a well pitched game over a slug fest. Being able to toss 102mph fastballs all the way up to the 9th inning is impressive. With that kind of stamina, his curve ball is extremely effective. Have to give props to the defense as well, made a few plays that saved the no-hitter. Not a bad way to follow up a rookie of the year award.

Oh the teams in the AL overall are much better than in the NL. I just hate the American League format, i.e. the DH. For my money it takes away from the strategy involved in the game. Being born in raised in Richmond, Va I've had the Atlanta Braves AAA affiliate here all my life, thus I'm a Braves fan and always have been (even in the dark days of the 80's when we'd lose 100 games a year like clockwork). I grew up on NL baseball and it's definitely my preference. I enjoy watching good pitching over good hitting any day. Give me a 1-0 pitchers duel over a 12-11 game any day of the week. But I'd say my opinion was probably skewed by getting to see Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and John Smoltz pitch three out of every five games for ten years.
