+26 Internets | Motherfucking Marine stole Paul Loreau's bit. That shit is nothing compared to what was happening in Edmonton last year. By the time the finals rolled around, the crowd was singing BOTH anthems about five times as loud. |

| For comparison, Edmonton last year: Quote:
Pronger is traded to the Oilers, and signs a new 5 year contract. The Oilers management makes all future decisions with that in mind, and begin to build the franchise around Chris Pronger. Fans all over the city (myself included) love him, and knowing that we have him for so long, go out and buy Pronger jerseys. All seems well. We lose the cup in game 7. In the next couple of days, Pronger leaves on a vacation to Mexico and has his agent "leak" the fact that he wants to be traded. Now, i would be less pissed off if he came out and asked for a trade, and explained to the fans and the media that it was something very important that he had to do for his family. I would be even less pissed if he would have secretly requested a trade and left the public out of it until after the fact. But no, he hides in Mexico for a month while the fans and Oilers management digest his trade request. Of course he knows that since his trade request was leaked, there was pretty much no way that the Oilers could keep him. There'd be too much animosity between him and the fans, and he'd be a cancer in the dressing room. This in turn significantly lowers his value in the upcoming trade, as teams knew we had to get rid of him asap. After the trade, since we built around him, we are left with gaping holes on defense for the next season. That is why we hate Chris Pronger. And he never once showed any regret or any other emotion over it, no apologies or thank yous or nothing. | |

| Romo is a manwhore | On that note, I'm happy the Sabres resigned Ruff and Regier. They know how to build a franchise, and have 1 cup appearance and 2 conference finals appearance during their tenure. Of course, now the question shifts to Drury and Briere. It's painfully obvious that at least one has to go. Sabres can't afford both of them, since Briere's arbitration put him with a $5m contract for 1yr and Drury will almost certainly command at least that, if not more. IMO, I say let Briere go and work to keep Drury. He's an outstanding clutch player and while he shared the Captain title with Briere, I feel he was the true leader of the team. |

| Drury is better for sure. I heard San Jose were pushing hard to get Drury, though. I also heard that they might be able to keep both? The cap will be going up to 48-52 million this year. |
