As for the HBO/UFC deal, it's possibly gonna fall through. Apparently, the owner of HBO is being forced to resign, and the guy taking over hates MMA. Here is a link to the article - HBO's CEO Arrested Here's another - HBO Shakeup | |

+7 Internets | Not that I think this guy would win, but I think the original argument was "Would a champion class boxer get his ass kicked by a well rounded MMA fighter." That is a resounding yes. This guy however is a boxer, with a large wrestling background. Which is kinda the point. Anyone who specializes in only one aspect of fighting, especially a boxer, is going to get worked by someone who trains a well rounded program. So ummm...yeah, this guy will be more competitive in the MMA arena because he ummmmm...has more than one discipline under his belt. |

| I pretty much agree with everything Grimmlokk has said. It would be great if boxing could become a little more organized. Also, I find it funny that people say the DLH vs FM was supposed to 'save boxing', but Floyd Mayweather's attitude may end up damaging the sport even more. He's pretty much at the pinacle of his career - and he feels he has nothing else to prove. He's a great boxer, that's for sure, but I think he's far from being an all time great. He still has a lot more to prove. There is a lot of good competition out there still, but he doesn't feel he should fight anyone unless he's making the kind of money the De La Hoya fight made him. |

| After mulling it over more I really do agree with the sentiments here and I think the whole thing is pretty retarded. What does it prove? Nothing. Doesn't prove any sport is better than the other. Only proves that an athlete will not succeed in a sport that he isn't trained for (and this goes for MMA and Boxing). |

ESPN enters partnership with Sherdog.com. Or some such. It's a step. They'll be getting their MMA coverage through Sherdog. Which is a good thing(yes outside the forums it's a good site=P).
