Worse than a spanking.

I am watching the playoffs from Europe and enjoying them, but i have to say that none of the teams i have so far watched play both defense and offense well enough to earn the Championship, except the Pistons. I like the Suns and the Spurs very much and i think their series will be the true finals of the west but they both lack a well-rounded game. In short, whichever team of the two goes to the finals against the Pistons (and there is no doubt Pistons will be eastern champions) can be handled by Detroit's solid defense and low-turnover careful offense.

The Spurs are an as if not more complete team than the Pistons. Their defense is just as good and their offense is possibly better suited for the playoffs as Parker and Ginobli are better dribble penetrators than anybody on Detroit.

That said, who knows who's gonna come out winning the Spurs-Suns series. No amount of defense may be able to slow down the Suns with Nash playing the best of his career, a healthy Stoudemire, Barbosa and Bell shooting very well. This is gonna be some good shit to watch.

Actually i see the Spurs' weakness against Pistons as exactly that, as Parker's and Ginobili's drives can be checked by a committed defense, leaving only Duncan to fight offensively. I've seen those two contained successfully without much hassle in national team games (as Parker plays for France and Ginobili for Argentina) and this is the defensive approach i expect Pistons to use (stop Parker and Ginobili first) if they play the Spurs in the finals.

And i agree, the Suns-Spurs matchup will be great fun to watch. Spurs need to short-circuit Nash's amazing passing game which is all Suns are about, but
i am not sure they can pull it off. Let's see how it'll play through, but i suspect a seven game series.

IMO the better series was Utah vs. GS instead of Rockets anyways. Should be fun.

Warriors in 4, Jazz starting 5 aren't quick enough to keep the 4 guard lineup the Warriors play in front of them.

Yeah. If I were a GS fan, I would have been cheering for Houston, because there is no way Yao would be able to play GS-pace basketball for even 38 minutes a game.

I wonder how often Kobe kicks himself in the ass for running Shaq out of town?).
Really? I'm quite glad we are not saddled with a bloated contract for a man who can only play half the fucking season. I was getting so sick of the bullshit from snaqks; the "pay me my fucking money' stint during preseason years back to the 'I got hurt on company time so I'll get fixed on company time' hoopla. He has by far the biggest ego in the league and frankly you cannot blame a guy like Kobe to take offense to crap like that. Shaq may have been a dominate force but Kobe carried that team when the 'MDE' (honestly?) was out with a hurt back, knee, toe, hand or possibly just sand-in-the-vagina. Every year he would show up overweight and completely out of shape. I think it says something in the fact when he was traded he lost 50-60 lbs over that offseason... wtf is that? The Heat have a interesting few years ahead of them and literally sold their soul for the championship last year. If you look at the talent they put around Wade (Odom, Butler mainly) prior to trading for Shaq they were on the rise to do big things. Now they have a bleak future, it'll be interesting if Wade starts to get irked by the same shit Kobe and Penny did.

Fuck shaq man...

I agree. Shaq was the man 10+ yrs ago, but lately? Like you said, overbloated(literally hehe) and overvalued. Look how far he carried the Heat this year when Wade took an injury.... /giggles... Shaq is over, and has been for quite some time. Was the best thing Lakers could of done. Get rid of that old fat leach.

I cant believe that when the Lakers traded him, people were actually arguing that it was Kobe that should of been traded instead. LOL? WTF?

Well, my Lakers took an early exit (wtb 1x garnett, wts 1x Bynum), but since they're the home team I'm looking forward to watching the Warriors beat some Utah Jazz ass. I'm guessing they can win, probably in 6 or 7. Their defense is solid, but that perimeter game really lit up the Mavs and put them away. If they can keep shooting that way, they'll be in every game, but it can't last forever...

Too bad there's almost zero chance of them beating the Spurs, or god forbid the Suns (ihateyousuns)
