If not for the dumbest foul in damn near playoff history, the Spurs go to the finals and beat Miami. To say that Dallas beat them is true, but they needed a lot of luck to do so. Dallas just isn't a mentally tough team (as proved by the fact that they got absolutely worked by a raucus home crowd in Oakland against Golden State).

Yeah. Phoenix had their chance. They led all of game 5. They fucking blew it. They choked in the 4th quarter when they went completely ice cold from the field and couldn't get a stop to save their lives.

If that is the case, you suck at sarcasm. Also notice my response about the choking to Dallas comment. Yeah, I am an excuse making machine. In light of your recent clarification, SA/Dallas seris was worth whatever happened. I have already posted the scores, it was a tightly contested series with plenty of overtimes and games decided within the last 30 seconds. IMO a much better series than the Pheonix/SA series of this year. SA lost plain and simple. I have a workmate who works remotely out of Dallas, I didnt start crying about the what would have, or could of happened. All I told him was, "Dallas better win the NBA championship". Thats it

I was talking more to Akileese, but I quoted you because you made the laughable comment that Phoenix tends to fold when your favorite team choked the year before. Again, I don't care about either team, I'm a Sonics fan.

How the hell did we choke? We were down 3-1, came back, won the next 2 games and nearly pulled it out in Game 7 in an overtime game. All the time with a injured Tim Duncan, and a boneheaded Ginobili turnover. Dallas won, good series, but yeah. Choke. Got it.

SA didn't really choke though. It was a really close series. Secondly, SA had a pretty good 4th against Dallas. Ginobli just made the worst foul in playoff history. I wouldn't call that choking per say, but I see what you're trying to say. It's more of a brain fart. SA didn't go cold for a whole quarter and blow a 12 point lead in about 3 minutes.

Maybe choke was the wrong word (I think it's an accurate description, but whatever, I'm not going to argue semantics), but the Spurs definitely had every advantage in that game.

The Spurs had 1) momentum after winning the last two, including game 6 in Dallas, 2) homecourt advantage, and 3) vastly greater playoff experience. Yet they still lost. Dallas' only "advantage" was minor injuries to some Spurs players, but they played just fine in the games before.

OK excuses aside, the Spurs should have won that series, choke is the wrong word, Dallas was (obviously) just as good as SA was last year. Dallas is a team built to beat San Antonio.

Having said all that, you need to do a bit more research before you say "minor" injuries. Duncan had basically the same problem that Larry Hughes had which caused him to sit out most of the Finals. Whats the difference you might ask? Duncan played through it, but his range of motion (IE being able to pivot off of the post) was basically nil. He was not the same Duncan that we normally see in the playoffs, still better than most, but not great which is his norm.

There is nothing minor about plantar fasciitis, Duncan had suffered through all of the season before.
