Not going to be able to talk to you obviously. Tito had a bad back, Arona had a fever whatever. Both those fighters are known for having an excuse for every single fight they have lost, if it was an issue then dont fight.

Fact still remains machida has yet shown to have a weakness or a hole in his game, made everyone look like crap and has gone toe to toe with almost every style of fighting. How the hell can you say Arona would run through him.

eh Arona is always "sick" after a loss. That guy always has an excuse when he loses.

Misaki vs. Akiyama was overturned, ruled a No Contest. I think its a result of the rules being a bit vague.

Isn't it a 4 point rule? Akiyama's left hand was dragging on the ground, he was about to be upright. He got kicked while bending over. Big deal?

Bullshit in my opinion to protect a major star, that being Akiyama.

Just more fight fixing from Japan.

Sapp wants Fedor? The steroids are really fuckin with his judgement. Crocop KO'd him in one round and had that bitch crying. Fedor has beaten Crocop in the past before. Sapp is really confused right now, and I have no clue how his ego could be any bigger then Sapp is physicially.

I count four... Yeah it might of been close, but close doesn't make it legal.

ouch that kick must have hurt misaki. You can get permanent damage landing with the top of your foot like that.

I guess Akiyama is right, its a no contest.

If he isn't at 100%, he shouldn't be a professional MMA fighter. Plain and simple.

Nobody is ever at 100%. Like Chuck and Forrest said, its not IF you are injured coming into a fight. Its about HOW injured you are.

You must not have seen the Dennis Miller interview.

Ill take the big league pros word instead of some board jockey "plain and simple" saying who shouldn't be fighting.

It's the classic fallacy of martial arts. You spend years learning how to fight, but if you ever had to do it you couldn't because you're always hurt.

I train for a couple hours a day 5-6 days a week. I constantly have sprains, bruises, pulled muscles, and cuts. That isn't even in the same ballpark as the kind of grinder professional fighters put their bodies though. Not to mention that if you ever suffer a serious injury it will haunt you for the rest of your career. Guys like Liddell probably have to take a dozen advil just to step in the cage.

Yeah a prime example is of Forrest v Shogun. Forrests rotator cuff was almost completely torn going into that fight, he didn't even have full use of his arm. And he was going against SHOGUN. He fought and got surgery later on. Granted, Shogun also had knee surgery after that fight. So both of them had serious damage. You just have to weigh it all out.

Respect the fighter spirit.

I assume you are talking about grappling training. Its a nightmare for a lot of stand-up guys. You name it, it gets damaged. Broken toes are very common, and thats a painful injury that never stops hurting.

Theres a reason why some stand-up fighters just refuse to adopt any sort of ground game. Its brutal and grueling work. Most of us would rather be tagged in the face than grind through daily hours of grappling sessions.

Back on topic.

I was very impressed with Hardonk's performance at UFC 80. He was finally able to showcase his standup full throttle. Those combinations were very reminiscent of his mentor Ernesto Hoost, shockingly so. He really blew me away with the load up on his kicks he was able to work in with his punches. It takes some talent to load your kick that hard while throwing hands. It was great to see Ernesto there in his corner too. It felt like K1 and gave me some nostalgia.

Id say Hardonk has the most devastating stand-up in the heavyweight division right now. Id love to see him tested against Mirko. If Hardonk can just get a legendary sprawl, hes champion material.

All that based on a 17 second fight against Collin Robinson? About a guy who got blanketed by Tito's LnP protege McCully?

Don't get me wrong, I picked Hardonk and I have been dying to see him against someone who'd actually stand with him, but you might be putting the cart ahead of the horse a bit there.

Also, Fitch to fight Chris Wilson at UFC82.

WTF? Wilson is a legit fighter, make no mistake. However Fitch has earned the right to fight some serious contenders by now. 7-0 in the UFC, pretty definitive wins. Beat their golden boy Diego Sanchez pretty effectively and escaped every sub he threw his way easily. Crushed Thiago Alves. Fitch is a damn good fighter and he should be contending for the title this year, not fighting more warm up type shit. And taking on someone brand new to the UFC is not usually how the set up a title bout(unless you're new to the UFC yourself). Feed him Koscheck or Fisher or some other recognizable name for the crowds.

Also, Antonio Silva is fighting Ricco Rodriguez on the Feb 16th Showtime event. Be interesting to see what Silva does against a big grappler, Silva is making weight at 265 now and I am dying to see more of him.
