I thought the first round was pretty even. Well, it was slow and boring really, but even. The second round chuck dominated and the third he won decently. Both guys were tired and not doing much. The score seemed close enough for me. Chuck needs to retire though.

But what the fuck was that shit? Semi entertaining fight, but neither of them looked like "world class" strikers. ughhhhhh ugly.

Nice to know Chuck learned from the Tim Silvia school of being a pussy. The Lidell/Silva fight was fucking awful hands down, especially in the latter half of the second and all of the third when chuck decided to use the clinch.

One of the things that used to separate and differentiate UFC from boxing was a relative lack of gay clinches. If I wanted to see two men hugging for most of a fight I would get HBO and spare myself the expense of PPV.

I thought the Lidell & Silva fight was actually pretty entertaining. I was quite surprised that Silva didn't come out with a bit more intensity though. That being said, Chuck is by no means in championship form. He was completely gassed in the 3rd round. We shall see how he does in his next fight.

GSP put a clinic on Matt Hughes. I think after their last fight, pretty much everyone knew that GSP was going to win. However, I didn't think it was going to go down like that. Hopefully Hughes retires now rather than fighting a bunch of no names for no real reason. He even realizes that he can't compete with the best in the sport now, so it makes sense for him to leave now.

Overall I was pretty happy with the fights

P.S. I say this everytime, and I will continue to say it. I fucking hate Mike Goldberg. That guy is such a fucking moron.

For what it's worth, I thought Chuck vs Wanderlei was built up too high. It was an alright fight, but it wasn't that ultimate special battle. It did have that big fight aura to it though. Overall I thought 79 was a great show with a solid undercard and two dissapointing MEs.
