| Fedor wins this in impressive fashion. They threw Rodgers to the big cat in his new cage, Fedor will not dissapoint. I dont think Rodgers is ready, or has faced a fighter with Fedor's combination of peerless skill and almost unrivaled experience. Fedor wont trade with Brett though IMO. If he does it will be to get him off balance so he can get a TD.

So, the 4 fights at the top of the Strikeforce card are all top notch-ish. Picks! Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers You're free to pick against him, but 99% of people doing that are falling victim to sportswriter syndrome. Where you call an upset in advance just in the hope that it happens and you can brag about it after, knowing that if you are wrong no one will really remember. If you are a real follower of MMA, you are picking Fedor. Nothing Rogers has shown should give you any real belief that he's got some Fedor kryptonite, he's not bringing anything to the table tat Fedor hasn't neutralized before. Try to rationalize it all you want(OMG he's a striker AND big!), you aren't picking based on facts you are picking because you want to be the guy who went against the grain. Jake Shields vs. Jason Miller I want to pick the other way, I really do. But Miller tends to put himself in bad spots sometimes and relies on his pretty stellar sub defense to get him out of it. And that might work, but Shields excels on grinding out decisions with control and sub attempts, even if they aren't always really going for the finish. Antonio Silva vs. Fabricio Werdum Why? Because Silva is a 265lb guy with an Easter Island head and gigantism who throws flying knees. My mostly unwarranted love of him will probably end up battered and bloody on the side of the road much like my Ben Rothwell and Matt Hamill jocking. Gegard Mousasi vs. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou When someone's only hope of a win is a flash KO, the smart money is on the other fighter. RTS seems incapable of setting up the KO punch he needs to win this fight, and he's sure as hell not on Mousasi's level when it comes to the ground game. He's been coasting along on the Arona/Nog Ko's for 2 and a half years now. It's about time he actually showed something. -------------------------------------------------------------------- I skimmed over most of the Mr. Miyagi mental fighting gibberish, mostly because it centered around Matt Mitrione and his 45 seconds of offense last week. That said, I think most fighters agree that the biggest mental aspect of the game is being able to take a punch and keep on coming. Not being able to just hit someone over and over, that's silly bully shit that anyone in the sport can manage. The ability to not wilt in the face of someone else who is beating you is huge though. Ask Bob Sapp.

+267 Internets | Fedor - Rogers I like Rogers, but even with his size and striking, I have to go with Fedor. I'd drop $20 on Rogers though (dunno what the odds are). Shields - Miller I'm picking Shields to win, but I'll be rooting for Miller. Werdum - Silva Think it might come down to the ground game, unless Silva gets lucky early. Sokoudjou vs. Mousasi

+267 Internets | I was looking at the Velasquez/Nog rumor for 108 on their frontpage as well.

| Sooo, does Carwin just get held hostage? Obviously you dont want to spoil the fight, but how long is Brock going to be unable? At some point Carwin has to get in there.

| A Bearded Gnome | Pretty sad Rampage vs The Door was the best fight so far on TuF 10.

+4 Internets | The best thing to come from this season of TUF is the fact that a genuinely likable guy like Marcus Jones(who may or may not win) is probably going to get a chance to continue his career and improve his skills. The guy has real athletic ability and an actual work ethic. Only positive thing from this season imho. No wonder Rampage went to go do movies, the guy knew how this was going to destroy any credibility he had as anything more than a self-centered asshole.

| Damn I was wrong about Big Baby. His stand up looked highly questionable, but he looked to be explosive when push came to shove on the ground.

| Good for Marcus Jones, dude seems like a super nice guy and is incredibly respectful. Fight was too quick (and I'm too much of an MMA no-nothing) for me to really gauge his fighting skill, but I'm glad he won anyway. Pulling for Wren to win if not him.

| The camera was trying to hide his obvious knee injury from the NFL days. When hes using force or in motion, its not noticable, but if you watch him casually walk relaxed, hes got a broken step. Last edited by jayrebb; 11-04-2009 at 08:50 PM.. |
