Heh, just saw this in a post by Ben Rothwell on the Sherdog forums.

"I think steroids or lack of is the fall of Pride Fighters. JMHO"

I hope UFC gets him into the octagon at some point=) Fun to watch.

Shogun didn't look in shape from the start really. But aside from Rampage *none* of the Pride guys has looked very good. Nog/Herring/Werdum/Nakamura/CroCop. Hendo was OK, but I've always thought he was a little out of his weightclass fighting at 205, though he makes up for that in skill. I would absolutely love to see Hendo vs. Silva at 185. Supposedly Dana hinted that he'd be fighting for the 185 belt soon. Possibly winner of Franklin/Silva I'd guess.

What really suprised me was how bad Shogun were doing in the clinch. He just got tripped over and over, when a chute boxer isn't winning at his own game you know he's in trouble.

I always thought Nog looked good in his debut. Aside from getting caught with that kick he dominated Herring for the entire fight.

Anyway, heres the base pay for UCF 76

Keith Jardine ($14,000) def. Chuck Liddell ($500,000)
Forrest Griffin ($44,000) def. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua ($150,000)
Jon Fitch ($44,000) def. Diego Sanchez ($22,000)
Lyoto Machida ($50,000) def. Kazuhiro Nakamura ($20,000)
Tyson Griffin ($24,000) def. Thiago Tavares ($9,000)
Rich Clementi ($24,000) def. Anthony Johnson ($5,000)
Jeremy Stephens ($6,000) def. Diego Saraiva ($3,000)
Christian Wellisch ($14,000) def. Scott Junk ($4,000)
Matt Wiman ($16,000) def. Michihiro Omigawa ($5,000)

This is what bothers me a bit about the UFC. I know chuck is a huge name and deserves the money but show some respect to the fighter that's going to challenge the big name and rework the contract. At least give Jardine $100,000. Shit if Chuck won he would have pulled in a mil.

You do so when the contract is up. Keith Jardine has fought nobody worth mentioning until Chuck. On top of that, he loses to a new up and comer. Chuck was supposed to be fighting Wanderlei, except Silva pulled out because he wanted more time.

What's reported is just the base salaries, most fighters actually earn much more than what the CSAS reports. While Jardine isn't gonna be making anything close to what Chuck is. I'm sure he's bringing home alot more than 14k

Go back a few pages and read so we don't have to re-hash the fighter pay subject please. Summary: It's not fair, life isn't fair. Get a helmet.

So Apparently Shogun entered the octagon with a knee injury.

Excuse? Possibly

Lidell getting 500k for the fight. That was his purse win or lose. Minus endorsements or Fight bonuses often handed out by the UFC.

Kongo Vs. Nog in December.

I know it's been a crazy year and all, but if Kongo somehow wins that I might just have to kill someone.

Don't blink. 60 MMA fights in 9 minutes. Fights ended in 20s or less. Flying Armbar is always FTW.

Also, Forrest flipping off the Chute Boxe corner while fighting Shogun. Love the smile on his face as he does it.

Have heard before that the Chute Boxe guys are pretty loud hecklers during fights.
