GSP fight was a snorefest. Couture fight was much more exciting, but the way it started off really wasn't 'fair'.

Thats what I get for betting against Randy... Kinda sucks that the nose was broken from an accidental illegal strike.

Even with the nose break, I didn't see the fight going any other way.

As far as GSP vs. Kos, I didn't expect anything different. Kos is a 1st class wrestler and GSP has stopped every wrestler he went against. I was screaming for that Kimura finish though.

Yeah Randy was winning the fight even before the broken nose. GG didn't really seem to have an answer for the clinch. Still, I would of liked to see the fight end in a more decisive matter, if only to save me from reading the spam from GG fans that will undoubtedly fill the MMA forums I read.

I wonder if GG will ever live up to his hype. I doubt he'll ever be able to get a rematch with Randy, but I wouldn't mind seeing one with CC.

GSP/Kos fight was kinda boring, but it's always entertaining watching Kos get shut up.

Huerta is fun to watch but when are they going to stop feeding him UFC noobs. Is there some hidden UFC rule stating that if you're a lightweight your UFC debut has to be against Huerta?.

I want to see Randy Vs. Fedor so badly. One of them needs to cave already and just sign a deal so I can see that shit happen before Randy loses the belt or retires.

Oh yeah, how fucking long do we need to keep talking in spoiler boxes....

It better be Randy vs Big Nog next or I'm going to be pissed. Quit wishing for Fedor he's not going to be inside of a UFC ring for some time to come.

I couldn't find anyone's house to go to and watch it...no big bars in the area had it (Not that there are any big bars in the area)

Anyone have clips of the Coutoure, GSP, Huerta, and Mir fights? Thanks for using spoilers too, btw. I clicked on the thread and scrolled up and down really fast to see if it was all text or if vids were posted, hehe.

I was definitely pulling for Randy, but I honestly thought Gonzaga was going to kill him. However Randy obviously had a good game plan going in and controlled him really well in the clinch. If it wasn't for Randy smashing Gonzagas nose on accident, I think the fight would have been a bit different. Randy got rocked a couple of times.

I thought the GSP and Kos fight was actually pretty good. GSP dominated him pretty well. I am willing to bet his next fight will be against the winner of Hughes and Serra.

I know Joe Stevenson was asking for a title shot, but I would like to see him and Huerta fight for the top contender spot. Although, depending on Sherk's appeal, who knows what will happen with the lightweight title.

I second what Ironhawk said, thanks a ton for keeping the spoilers in spoiler text. I guess ~24 hours is the limit to worry about it, so a few more. Anyways...

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Calling it a headbutt or "accidental strike" is silly. It was 100 % pure accident. Not a strike in any ways. Purely accidental contact during a big slam. Eitherhoo, Randy dominated. And I am still holding out hope that they gte Fedor signed and the K-1 million per fight deal was bullshit. Captain America vs. the Russian Cyborg would be amazing.

GSP absolutely dominated Kos. I was hoping for a more definitive finish, but he did show that Kos is still not near the elite of the weightclass. Wish he woulda worked the GnP a bit earlier, in the 3rd it worked like a charm.

What match caused the giant bloodstain on the mat? It was after the Thales Leites match but before the first live match, but I didn't see it aired. So I guess it was the Mir/Hardonk fight or Babalu/Heath?

edit

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Ok I saw the Babalu fight now, fucking bloodbath. And apparently David Heath came into the ring wearing a shirt with babalu's mugshot from some arrest on it, so that's whyBabalu held the anaconda choke for a little extra time.

They need to take his victory away and suspend him. That shit was uncool. Why throw away a dominating performance like that? The sport is brutal enough as is, but that is the shit that is going to kill someone and bring it down.

Usually I'd say it was bushleague bullshit, but...

1) It was like 2-3 seconds, not the 5+ people keep saying. Still shitty, but not the attempted murder that sherdoggers seem to think.

2) The guy spent the pre-fight build up being a complete and utter douchebag. Apparently he wore a shirt with a mugshot of Bablu from some arrest to the weigh in.

3) It happens *ALL THE TIME*. Dudes constantly hold the choke for an extra couple seconds, just to be sure the fight is actually over. Just like when they keep punching a dude who can't defend themselves. This is only getting blown out of proportion because the announcers made it that way. Fuck, when Frank Shamrock destroyed Phil Baroni he admitted he held he choke a little extra after he tapped just to put him to sleep and put him in his place. Where's the outrage there when one of the biggest names in MMA does it?

Settle the fuck down.
