97 will go ahead as planned in Montreal. The only rule change will be no foot stomps to a downed opponent, something you hardly see anyways.

In other news, Franklyn vs Wanderlei scheduled to fight in Germany at UFC 99. It will be a 195lbs catch weight fight apparently.

I was under the impression that stomps were never allowed in the UFC.

Yup, they were only legal in Pride. They are illegal in Dream. I'm not sure about WVR.

I thought they were allowed to the body in the UFC, but I guess not. Just axe kicks and regular kicks to the body.

I'm with Tuco, I think a Brock vs Fedor fight may be interesting.

That really depends on the strength of the fighter. If Fedor gets on top and keeps working on passing the guard or for an armbar, then the fight won't get stood up.

But, I doubt Brock will be put up against Fedor yet, he only has 4 fights and has been in MMA for a year or so. Fedor has been in it for 10 years.

Doubt Dana would put his biggest earner in a fight, where the possibility for Brock to lose is so big.

But, for now, lets see what happens with Mir vs. Brock, I'm rooting for Mir, even though I can't stand him as a fighter.

Dana has already came out and said if Fedor comes to the ufc his first fight will be against the champion.

As Fedor said, it is on Spike so nobody will be spending money to be watching it. That being said, even if it was PPV I doubt I would get it. Just not a real interesting card.
