Apparently before the match Herring approached Dana and said he thought it was bullshit he had to fight a rookie. Word got back to Lesnar about it, and that, along with all the shit-talking people have been doing, gave Lesnar a reason to give a big point-and-laugh to all the naysayers. The laugh wasn't just at the person he was fighting who said that he would have to pack his bags after that night, and that he (Herring) would put the final nail in his (Lesnar's) coffin.

Sure, it was childish, but no more childish than the shit-talking Herring was doing before the fight, and certainly no more childish than all the people denouncing him after all the effort he's put in in the last 3 years.

Florian's striking looked crazy good in the 3rd round. Wish he would have shown some of that earlier.

I thought Fitch might have won the 2nd, but yeah he just had no answer to GSP. Especially on the feet, St. Pierre's punches just hit so much harder.

I was actually pulling for Jason MacDonald against Maia, and I don't usually like MacDonald. One of those cases where I was just fed up with having Maia and his BJJ shoved down my throat by the announcers. 1st two rounds were awesome though. Great sub attempts and escapes by both guys.

And like someone mentioned, Lesnar needs to work the BJJ game a bit. With how many times Heath gave up his back, he should have attempted at least one sub. But I guess he was just worried about keeping dominant position and getting that first UFC win under his belt.

If he doesn't do the stupid celebration bullshit every fight I'm OK with it. It was a *huge* win for his career.

Looked to me like those hit in the kidneys, but yeah. Herring could not have been a happy man after that.

Any of you guys watching the Olympic boxing? What a joke these tools are. I have watched 2 fights now where one guy gets ahead in the 2nd or 3rd round and then runs round letting the guy chase him till it is all over. Its a fucking disgrace! Not sure how any country can back that kind of puss bag stuff.

I have trouble watching any boxing now. Any time they clinch I start yelling, "KNEE! KNEE! KNEE!"

Oh, and fuck Lesnar, fuck him in his roided up ass. I lost a second bet on UFC 87 (I bet on Fitch for fun, even though I picked him to lose) and have to not shave until the next UFC.

Yeah I have trouble watching boxing too. Really watching any non-MMA sport is annoying in the same way it's annoying watching fighters in MMA be at serious risk to getting hit from illegal blows.

I obviously don't want those blows (like headbutt to a guy who has you in his guard, blows to the back of someone's head when you have their back, kicks to the balls in the clinch etc), but I get slightly annoyed anytime a guy could dominate another one with those moves but can't do them because they are illegal.

Knees to the head are the big one for me.

UFC is pretty much a bore fest now. I want some new violence. Like england football gangs up against one another in the octagon.
