| You guys really should just ignore jayrebb in the MMA thread...Pretty sure his -54 internets were all retroactive due to general fucktard comments made before said internets were implemented.

You did nothing in this post but prove that Griffin had a better strategy and Rampage completely and utterly failed in his single-minded strategy of tying for a one-shot KO. You win. | |

+11 Internets | Nice to have you bay Jay=) In my head I scored it a draw like someone else said earlier. 2/5 to Griffin 1/3/4 to Jackson. The knockdown was enough to give Jackson 1, but just barely. He did land another pretty huge shot that buckled Forrest's legs in 1, but after the uppercut it was forgotten. I'm OK with the decision, but this is one case where I really think they need to do a rematch. Unlike most times they put one on and I don't see the point. Why the fuck is Jorge Gurgel in the UFC? He may be an amazing coach, and the nicest guy in the world, but he's fucking horrible in the Octagon. I don't know if he was fighting all scrubs before the UFC or what, but he is just wretched in there. And it's not like he did anything when he was on TUF to impress anyone. I hate when the coaches' pals get a free pass regardless of how they do on the show.

Dana wants Franklin to come back, and cutting Jorge would be disrespect to Franklin personally. Because thats one of his best friends and teammates. Hes a great BJJ guy, but he doesn't have the instincts to bring it to MMA. I respect his BJJ enough to train with him regardless of his octagon performances. His track record reminds me of the newer Gracies. They just can't get it done in MMA anymore. As for the Rampage/Griffin fight, I told everyone I saw it with that I was going to pretend that just didn't happen. And Im waiting on a rematch before I recognize Griffin. After Guillards latest performance, I really want to see him get an easier road just fighting stand-up guys for the spectacle sake.

+11 Internets | Guillard has always been a blast to watch. He's just been such a fuckhead. I love that based on a 36 second fight the announcers are convinced he's changed completely=P Also, when talking about Lytle's gash Goldie mentioned the old Eastman cut and Joe said nope. "That thing looked like a goat's vagina." "It was huge". Awesome. Love when he slips and says shit like that. Who was it he said had the "rape choke" in?

| Griffin I thought was the winner and the decision, while close, was a good one. For all the shit jay is giving about a challenger point fighting I thought it was rampage being the timid one... he looked unconfident to put it nicely. Champions don't fight scared, Forrest was engaging and controling far more. I've watched it three times now and each time it looks like forrest wins even more to me. |

It was Griffins job to finish off the disabled fighter, but he couldnt do that because hes not a real champion. Griffin himself admitted hes not the best champion in the post-fight, so you can stop defending him because the man himself is humble enough. He also mentioned a rematch right then and there. He knew the fight was too close and he didn't dominate Rampage. Why did Griffin feel a rematch was a given if he felt so great about winning? Some of the Griffin fanboys should just listen to Griffin himself, hes more logical. Anyway the guy went from nothing to something, so I won't rain on his parade anymore. Hes a nice guy and doesn't deserve the Tim Sylvia treatment, but you heard the crowd. Like I said, pretending this didn't happen and just waiting for the rematch.

+11 Internets | So I know a lot of insiders in the UFC and they'd been whispering to me that there's a lot of bad blood between Rich Franklin and Wanderlei Silva that goes back pretty far. I guess Wanderlei was hanging out with Lyoto Machida at some show in Japan where he was going to fight Rich and they got in to a little dust up when Wandy was hitting on Rich's wife. And during the fight he actually spit on Rich during a clinch in Lyoto's corner, which Rich says distracted him and lead to Machida getting the TKO. Well apparently they ran in to each other at the show this weekend and the sparks started to fly. Before anyone could intervene the two started throwing down pretty fierce. And some internet hero managed to catch it all on tape and put it on Youtube. God bless the man. Because he could have been really hurt standing this close to a couple of guys like them throwing down.

+3 Internets | I felt like Forrest should have got the decision, although I definitely felt that the fight was extremely close. I feel like the belt should change hands only when it's a convincing, sound win, but I do feel that Forrest won that fight. Hopefully the rematch is sooner rather than later. |
