+11 Internets | Badass. Antonio Silva is supposed to fight Sergei Kharitonov. I'm a huge fan of both fighters. I *REALLY* wanna see Silva in the ring against better competition. He's gonna be the next big thing in the HW division, no pun intended. A very competent BJJ guy with wicked powerful AND fast striking, who is 6'4", agile, and has to cut weight to make 265. Dude is an absolute physical freak. Literally, he had a tumor on his pituitary gland that made him such a monster. Also, he looks like he has an Easter Island head.

That loss to Eric Pele sort of derailed the hype train. All the bigfoot bandwagoners are taking a wait and see approach now. Sergei has coldly said before that he goes into the ring to die every time. Hes a top product of the Russian military. And recall he is the bodyshot king, theres a good highlight of Sergei's bodyshots out there. Best in the game. Hopefully he lands a few of his trademark bodyshots for old times sake in Pride.

+11 Internets | The Silva hype train definitely slowed down after the Pele fight, but that was before he started fighting on Shotime as well, so most never saw it. He was overly cautious against Ricco Rodriguez, so he's got something to prove. He's still fairly young(28), and he's a blast to watch. No one goes undefeated in MMA. BUT! I love Kharitonov. He's probably the most successful MMA guy at transferring real boxing skills to the MMA arena. Marcus Davis may catch up yet. But Sergei is just flat out at all times. Going to be interesting to see what he does to keep a 265+ guy from smothering him.

+11 Internets | Sergei Kharitonov - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Only losses are to Big Nog, Alistair Overeem, and Aleks. Has wins over Ninja Rua, Pedro Rizzo, Overeem, and Semmy Schilt. He's pretty good, and one of the guys I said UFC should have gone after hard to re-stock the HW division. Along with Rothwell. Shit the bed on both counts=/

Sergei's avenged loss to Overeem was a great comeback fight, but sloppy. Sergei was looking like Heath Herring, just out there to throw some haymakers and weather the storm. You can't tout his boxing skills there thats for sure. Overeem getting KO'd with his back turned to Sergei was the epitome of not having your mental game together. I remember Overeem being the joke .gif of the internet for a few weeks after that. I just hope the Pride Sergei shows up to this fight and not the K1 Heroes Sergei.

He's big, he's a very good striker, he's American, and he's charismatic. He's everything the UC HW division needs. Just cuz he's tubby around the middle doesn't mean he's a brute=P Fedor much?
