I thought the Florian fight wasn't so bad. I actually thought it was the best fight of the night. Kenny looked a lot better than he normally does. His stand up looked pretty good and those leg kicks were right on the money. Kenny easily had the first 2 rounds, but that 3rd round he got caught pretty deep with that leg lock and I thought he was done for. Gotta give him props for stickin' that out, that shit looked painful and managing to pull out the sub to win.

The Gulliard/Stevenson fight I expected a bit more from. Shit happens and you get caught. I'm sure they will fight again sometime.

Like everyone says, the Mcully fight was just horrid. Worst GnP i've seen. He's just lucky that a Hardonk flat out sucked on the ground. When he didn't pull off that arm lock, I knew he would never win on the ground. One dimensional fighters went out years ago. To only come in with striking is askin for a loss. Blue belt my ass.

I also really hate the team punishment GnP tactics. I think it's pretty cheap. Let's see, get 'em down, push 'em into the cage and just smother them and throw elbows. While it's a valid way to win, and I don't take anything away from thier wins, it's just boring as fuck and lame. It's almost like having that one play on Madden football for the Nintendo that you can run over and over and get 80 yard touchdowns every time you're on offense. It's fun at first, but after a while, you lose interest.

Except that play on Madden worked, against good opponents Titio's shit does not. Hardonk should have broken McCully's arm in that armbar early on, and could have lockedi n about 20 more over the fight.

And Tito *doesn't* finish worth a fuck. Unless you're Ken Shamrock. He got a cut stoppage on Sinosec(YAY ELBOWS!), and before that I think his last GnP stoppage would be what, before Frank Shamrock served him? We're talking 8 years and 12+ fights ago. He's a good wrestler, and he knows how to throw elbows. A legend that does not make. He has worked on his stand up a lot, and it's significantly better than it used to be. He just doesn't have the quickness to be really great on the feet.

The only guy out of his camp I want to see right now is Matt Hamill.

Usually i am really looking forward to the ufc xx night, but when i looked at the fight card for 69 i was a bit dissapointed because i only know like 3-4 guys from it .. :/

Can anyone tell me please what other ufc events are there in the usa so i can start looking for torrents from now on? I only know about the monthly ufc xx show.

honestly, most big name fights fail to deliver, and one of the best things about mma is you dont need to have 2 guys youve heard of fighting to have one hell of a good battle. really mma is alot like boxing in that i find typically the matches i enjoy the most are the undercard matches where 2 guys getting paid 1/100th of the big stars deliver some great fights, but of course to catch random great fights you just gotta watch everything and get lucky.

yeah, most main card fights are usually a let down. Like the above poster said, I enjoy the undercard fights much more so than the hyped fights usually, due to them being unknown, not knowing much of thier abilities and they usually put it on the line to make a name for themselves.

Btw, UFC 70 will be April 21st, and it will be a free "PPV" on spike tv. It's being held in England for the first time, and has some pretty decent matchups on there. Tonights card headliners are kind of lax. GSP/Serra is a title defense, but it's hardly been hyped at all. The Sanchez/Kozchek fight has personal beef outside the octogon, so these guys are fighting for more than just ranking. It's probably one of the better fights tonight, only due to the shit talking they have been doin and the hate they really have for each other. Swick/Okami will be another good one and probably fight of the night. I got swick winning on my mma fantasy league, but really, I had Okami earlier and can't make up my mind. It'll be a good one.
