Bodog is basically a pet project of a very very rich man. He could afford Fedor if Fedor wanted. But I don't see it happening really.

I was listening to one of the Sherdog shows yesterday and when they had I think Couture on they were talking about knees on the ground becoming legalized. Sounded like there's some movement to get it done. Which would go a long way towards getting rid of the stupid ass stalling and waiting for a restart bullshit that plagues the American MMA shows.

None of which will matter if the current trend of standing up fighters after 3 seconds on the ground keeps catching on. If you want kickboxing go fucking watch kickboxing...

edit: Also Fedor has fought outside PRIDE in 2 other shows since he started there I believe. 1 in Lithuania one in Japan. But yeah, when the Bodog one was first mentioned people pointed out he has a stipulation where he can fight outside PRIDE if the show is in Russia.

edit the 2nd:
Quote:
Fight Entertainment Group (FEG), parent of K-1, held a press conference to publicize an ambitious plan to hold a MMA show in the 92,000-seat Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on June 2.

The press conference also aimed to make it known that a number of the biggest promotions outside of UFC and PRIDE were jumping on board with FEG to create an alliance that would allow them to better compete in the ever-changing MMA environment.

Showtime-backed EliteXC, California's Strikeforce, Bodog Fights, England's Cage Rage, and Korea's Spirit MC, along with FEG's K-1 HERO'S are hoping to make a statement come June, but may have an uphill battle in their fight for a share of the MMA market.

ICON - Epic was last night.

spoils:

Robbie Lawler fucked up Trigg. They were both gassed by the 2nd round, and Lawler just continued to hit shot after shot.

Mayhem also had a good night, stopping who looked to be a can.

Charuto also took a win, giving him 2 wins in a row. Hopefully his streak continues.

I'm really worried that Silva's career is on the downturn. He has not looked impressive in his last fights - tentative and slow. Igor vs WS should be great in any case.

Yeah, what sucks is whoever loses will have lost 3 in a row, and I like them both.

Feh Guillard let me down. And the 2nd fight(McCully vs. Hardokin or whatever) was boring as fuck. There's nothing worse than watching a boring GnP fighter win=/

I'm not even sure if that deserves the title of "GnP"

Yeah, also I'm pretty tired of hearing what a great GnP "artist" Tito is because he got a few stoppages that mattered 6+ years ago. "One of the best in the world" blah blah fucking blah. Take Ken Shamrock out and he hasn't had an impressive win since Sinosic in like '02 I think it was. Can *maybe* give him the 1st Shamrock fight I guess, though even back then Ken was well past his prime.

I've decided I don't actually dislike Tito Ortiz, I just hate the fucking announcers when they talk about him.

The whole UFN event last night was somewhat lame in my opinion. They showed Florian vs. Mishima, but in my opinion neither of them are really that great, I would have much rather seen K-Taro vs. Drew Fickett. Florian looked decent last night, and Mishima looked like a poor mans Genki Sudo for a fight that was ok, but nothing great.

McCully's GnP was weak as hell, and Hardonk may officially be a blue belt, but watching him try to work things on the ground was painful, I've seen white belts with a better grasp on the ground game than that.

I'm so glad they somehow managed to find a way to fit a 4th fight(well 3rd shown) into that event last night. That submission from Pellegrino looked painful as fuck.

People on Sherdog(The MMA world's version of the Retard Rickshaw) were complaining so much about Stevenson vs. Guillard cuz it went so quick. I don't mind quick fights if its not something flukey, and even then a rematch is likely. I doubt anyone would have been complaining about that if the opening fights were better.

I was very disappointed with Melvin. He looked like a complete noob out there - swinging wildly with his punches and then completely panicking when he got put on his ass. C'mon dude...jesus christ...don't stick your head straight up in the air when uncentered by the opponent whose standing right in front of you. Man. I haven't seen someone exposed so completely since Check Congo got laid out.

I switched off that pathetic GnP fight to play a little Oblivion. The one thing Tito has going for him is that he CAN finish in the guard. But most of his acolytes/shlebs can't even come close to that, and it sure makes for a dull fight.

I felt bad for Jens on the TUF show. He really got showed-up as a chump by BJ. That was a pretty brutal thing to do to another fighter. Jens seemed like a pretty classy guy despite the fact that he must have felt like shit, standing in front of a bunch of guys who basically told you they think you are ass. Man, that would hurt the ego. Should be a good fight between those 2 at the end of the day, even though I also think BJ is the more talented fighter.
