+20 Internets | GSP even said he didn't want to punch down at Serra or stay in the pocket and bang with him because anything could happen. He never had any intention to keep the fight standing and I have no clue why you thought he would. Yet still he's pathetic because he didn't do what you wanted him too. |

Serra had already proven that he an awkward stand up match up for GSP, so GSP took it to the ground. That's good strategy. This is MMA, not boxing. If everyone followed your philosophy, they'd be pussies for keep their hands up and not being brave and skilled enough to use head movement to avoid every single strike. That's kind of how ridiculous you sound. It's like calling Anderson Silva a bitch for having to choke out Travis Lutter and Dan Henderson instead of knocking them out on the feet when he had the chance while the fight was standing. You are saying someone is pathetic for taking a highly decorated BJJ black belt to the ground and beating him on the ground. Last edited by tanjo : 04-20-2008 at 05:38 PM.

They both agreed Hughes couldn't have been a PFP because he was one-dimensional. Therefore, GSP is not on the PFP list yet until he can showcase some standup against a striker. B.J. Penn tooled GSP on the feet Im pretty sure. GSP is the one that talked a big game, and didn't bring it. Blame him. "NEW GSP", "NEVER SEEN BEFORE", "ANSWER WITH FISTS", "ALL NEW MENTAL STATE". bahahah fucking pure garbage talker. Didn't even stand for 20 seconds. Like Serra said, the guy lives in a glass house with all the hype he buys into. Hes just waiting to break again. GSP wants no part of Koscheck's new stand-up game. Just what we needed, another "PFP" guy that lays on people. Yeah Koscheck really got submitted so much for his PFP submission game.

+1 Internets | Seriously. GSP identifying which part of his skillset puts Serra at the biggest disadvantage and then forcing that matchup the whole fight is nothing but well-executed, intelligent strategy. This is why he's the champion. Choosing to forgo an advantage to prove some bullshit macho point just makes you a dumbass. If you want a prime example of what happens to dumbasses, rewatch Le vs. Shamrock. Losses and broken arms is all that kind of idiocy gets you. (edit) And who cares about being on some "PFP list"? He won, and that's the only thing that matters or makes him any money. Last edited by Tallyn : 04-20-2008 at 06:08 PM. |

He wanted no part of Koscheck or Serra on the feet, and that was even before Koscheck reinvented his stand-up. The guy clearly has some issues. He needs to cut the arrogant bullshit, because hes obviously not the true MMA guy everyone bought into. Too bad no more TUF title shots anymore. Id love to see the new middleweight season winner drop to 170 to watch GSP get his head knocked off by an unranked guy.

You're pissed off because you jumped to conclusions. Now, I agree with you that GSP's stand up isn't as great as some people might say. But GSP never said it was, he said he wouldn't get caught again and he that he wouldn't underestimate Serra like he did before, so what's the problem? Is there something wrong with a fighter creating a great game plan and using it to dominate his opponent? It's like being disappointed Nog had to take Sylvia down to win, shit makes no sense.

+26 Internets | Jayrebb is the first person I had to ever ignore on these boards. For someone who talks so much shit, I bet he hasn't trained a day in his life. Fuckin' poser just needs to shut the fuck up and stay at Sherdog, where he's a dime a dozen. |

Where in NYC? Im down for some "posing" outside the gym. Im a heavyweight, just an fyi. And no, I don't train any ground and never will. I only kickbox and would never waste my time with the ground. Someone quote me and let this douchbag know hes been called out. Chances are hes just another troll talking shit though. Sorry, GSP is just behaving like Tito lately, using superior cardio and strength to grind people down. This sport is entertainment, I want to see more stand-up from GSP because we all know hes capable of it.

+4 Internets | Ah it makes sense now. Everything is inferior unless you do it. Why do you even watch MMA then? Just watch kickboxing and stay the fuck out if you can't stand the ground game. It's a different fucking sport for a reason. Quote:
