Cause UFC 83 is full of Canadians.

UFN looks great though, good thing Spike is giving it 3 hours of air time. UFN's rarely disappointed.

Quote from Randy Couture in some interview he gave on the 15th.

Quote:
Reporter: "D’you care where you would fight Fedor Emelianenko, does that matter to you?"

Couture: “Well, I care at this point that it’s not in the UFC (he and the reporter both start laughing). Outside of that I don’t care where it happens, as long as it happens.”
.

Doesn't sound too likely that he's still willing to fight in the octagon if they get Fedor. Which means them going after Fedor hard for a 1 fight deal is likely more publicity than anything else, so they can say "Look we did what he wanted".

Also, apparently the TV ratings for the Dream show were really bad, like lower than HERO's and 2nd to last in the time slot.

They need to get Dream/Hero's off tape delay over there and broadcast it live. The only place it was broadcast live was in Korea on XTM. I know myself I have less of an inkling to watch a show when it's taped especially in this day of the Internet where results are out there as soon as it happens.

It's still disappointing nonetheless.

Wasnt that from an interview a couple months ago right after the affliction photo shoot?

Post said it was on 3/15.

Estranged UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture is still determined to fight former PRIDE heavy title-holder Fedor Emelianenko. Just don't expect to see the fight take place in the UFC, Couture says.

The 44-year-old UFC hall-of-famer made the comments in a recent video interview with the m1mixfight.com website.

Even after he resigned from the organization back in October (citing a lack of respect from UFC executives, issues over his pay, and the UFC's inability to sign then-free agent Emelianenko), Couture said he would return to the organization if UFC president Dana White could arrange a fight with the famed Russian.

However, the UFC recently took Couture to court to bar his involvement with outside fight promotions. The litigation has apparently ruined any shot of a Couture-Emelianenko fight taking place in the UFC.

Couture made that perfectly clear when he was asked if he cares where the fight with Emelianenko takes place.

"I care at this point that it's not in the UFC," Couture said with a dejected laugh. "But outside of that, I don't care where it happens so long as it happens."

The Dallas-based HDNet Fights appears to be the frontrunner to get the heavyweight fight. In fact, HDNet Fights owner Mark Cuban recently joined the legal fight to get a declaratory judgment on Couture's contract status.

"By fall... we'll hopefully have the fight going," Couture said.

And while he would prefer to fight close to home, it's not mandatory.

"I prefer to fight here in the U.S.," Couture said. "It's where I'm confortable. For all the marketing reasons, this is the strongest market for the sport probably outside of Tokyo... but wherever it happens, it happens."

With Couture now unwilling to fight in the UFC, a rumor that Emelianenko was close to signing a one-fight deal with the UFC -- to fight Couture -- appears unlikely.

Anyone else watch Iron Ring? Or is it Iron Wing?

The fight reminded me of this.

Having Charles 'Krazy Horse' Bennett as a coach/trainer was a nice ironic twist.

So UFC 85 is free on spike. Makes sense since every UFC in London has been free pretty much.

Now, drunk post.

Homsar, I miss your animated gif sigs. (now onto serious business)

FUCK RANDY COUTURE!

He wants to fight Fedor. Then rumors start a-brewin that Fedor might sign a one fight deal and he's all "I want to fight Fedor, but not in the UFC." Srsly wtf dude? If you want to prove you're the best, you'll fight him anywhere.

Speaking of Fedor, he needs to start fighting quality opponents. Sure, he's the best in the HW division (not saying much), but I don't feel he's the best pound for pound fighter anymore. Anderson Silva ftw. You can't fight noobs and expect to stay #1 forever. Even though I'm talking shit, I'd love to see him fight Arvlovski. Arvlovski might not be the fighter he was a few years ago, but shit, at least he's fighting.

Chuck Liddell is overrated. Sure, he's a good fighter, but did you see him in the fight against the Axe Murderer? Silva was getting pumeled, then started bobbing and weaving (basic boxing shit) and Liddell looked confused and backed off. It was embarrassing. I was all "WTF mate?" That fight did nothing for me. Fight of the night my ass.

Jayrebb needs to post more. His posts always lead to several more in this thread... That means I'm not bored durring work.

Lyoto is going to dominate LHW. Even if he keeps playing it safe, he's a badass.

HW division needs tweaking. I'd love to see Coleman pwn some nubs. Honestly, I think Lesnar is the future of the HW division once he gets some training/experience, but it seems like the UFC wants him to lose.

I hope Kimbo loses on May 31st. It'd make my night. I want to see his ground game.

Anyone watch the showtime fights tonight? The first fight was awesome, it was kinda downhill from there.

Haha ill look for a new one, some how mine magically changed to this guy.

Glad to see a Machida Fan. Here is the complete career HL, Just turn off the music and listen to depeche mode, I just played Rise by public image /shrug. His leg kicks later on have improve so much. There is little to no telegraphing and his sweep against BJ was amazing. You can see the leg bubble up instantly when he starts throwing the elbows into soko's leg

Unless I'm reading that wrong it's got Joe Lauzon as the underdog to Florian? Bet 100 to win 180? I think Lauzon is going to plow his ass under, but who knows. The rest seem pretty much about where I'd put them. Vera/Werdum even odds.
