I mean holy shit. Did anyone really think Tank at 40 something could go in there and hang with Kimbo standing? Really? Kimbo is a beast when going toe to toe standing.

Like I said earlier, I want to see him on the ground before making up my mind about him being a true MMA fighter.

Time will tell I guess.

Edit: Nice work on the quickness of the vid Gigfc

Woah dude seriously that is taking it a bit strong.

Mark Coleman would DESTROY Kimbo at 42 (same age i believe, might be 43). Age has nothing to do with this.

I actually have no doubt that Coleman would rape Kimbo at heavyweight. Mark barely makes heavyweight either. He was 224 at his biggest and most ripped.

Even Randleman at what 36, would rape Kimbo into a coma. And thats another guy that doesn't make legit heavyweight. Randleman barely scratches 205 now and he could still dispose of Kimbo.

Kimbo needs to be built up. You guys are already reaching for the stars because he fought a couple washups and cans. Put him against a legitimate old guy then talk some shit. lets see coleman (free agent). You know why that will never happen? Because coleman would smash ANY eliteXC champion.

Coleman is probably top 10 in the UFC at this point. Who could possibly beat coleman in the UFC heavyweight division? Sylvia and Nog, thats it. Coleman is top 10 still and its sad the guy cant get a fight.

Someone is going to say "coleman didnt fight no one for years now". Thats because he didnt have to. He collected checks and Pride folded. Not his fault.

Kimbo looked great against a punching bag. Tank couldn't even get a shot off.

That Yves Edwards knee was one of the coolest knockouts I've ever seen. Seriously, peeps it yo.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Little disappointed Silva wasn't his usual aggressive self. I'm sure he was just being overly cautious of Ricco's BJJ game, but I would have liked to see him unload a bit more. Seemed like he spent too much time trying to load up for the flying knee.

Thompson fight just goes to show, even Team Couture can't turn a giant turd into a fighter.

Also, what exactly happened to dude's lip when Smith punched him? Did it just like, tear?

Woah woah woah. Is that the same Kimbo of semi-internet fame? Back when I saw him (if it's the same person), he was just some brawler with no real technique.

Just watched the recent video and he's definitely gotten some pretty good striking abilities, and isn't the same schleb in the videos. Fast, hard, precise blows, though it looked like he was putting too much ground-fist transfer into his blows and if he wasn't connecting and faced someone competent (esp. trained in one of the judo related disciplines, or even greco-roman), they could come in and take him down and/or fuck him up while his entire body is still occupied by his punches.

He looked more like a boxer than an MMA fighter, but that's just one video.

I sort of stopped paying attention when Pride melted, and come back to seeing Kimbo as a professional fighter? My word.

edit: what's going on with Fedor? Any notable fights coming up? Caught the freakshow on new years, hah the dude lifting Fedor's 220+ as he's putting him in an armbar. Fedor looked like an 8 year old beside him, which I guess answers the age old question, how many 8 year olds could you take? None, if they're Fedor.

god what a joke of a fight with tank, kimbo could of knocked him out with any of a half dozen clean shots to the head, but backed off and let him get back up.

I was talking about TANK at that age not someone else who is still able to fight a good fight. Mark Coleman on the other hand is still a great fighter, not some washup like Tank currently is.

And yes Kimbo does need to be built up hense the fight against a named opponent "Tank". What Iam waiting for is a "real" fight.

Nobody is reaching for the stars here when talking about Kimbo Iam not sure where you got that from. Is he good? Well so far it would seem his striking is on spot with being a good heavy weight but everything else has yet to be seen. Nowhere has anyone praised him for being the best striker or fighter.

"Put him against a legitimate old guy then talk some shit."

Who is talking shit? He is a good striker that fought a old washed up Tank. Put him against someone that has some skill and then we can see how good he really is.

What again was your argument?

I was just looking at the UFC 82 fight card. Damn this one looks good. I had no idea the line up for this card was this damn good. I was about at the point where I was not going to order any more of the UFCs for awhile, but I am definitely getting this one.

MAIN CARD

* Champ Anderson Silva vs. Dan Henderson (for middleweight title)
* Heath Herring vs. Cheick Kongo
* Chris Leben vs. Alessio Sakara
* Yushin Okami vs. Evan Tanner
* Jon Fitch vs. Chris Wilson

PRELIMINARY CARD

* Andrei Arlovski vs. Jake O’Brien
* Luke Cummo vs. Luigi Fioravanti
* Dustin Hazelett vs. Josh Koscheck
* David Bielkheden vs. Diego Sanchez
* Jorge Gurgel vs. John Halverson

82 is stacked, gonna download like every undercard fight except Gurgel, unless he gets his ass KO'd. Then I might watch it.

Also, did no one else notice that Kimbo tossed his mouthpiece into the crowd instead of putting it back in his mouth?

That was his mouthpiece? I thought it was trash or something some threw in...I'll rewatch the vid.

I'll probably watch Gurgel's fight. He is exceptionally skilled at blocking punches with his face. Whats not to like!
