About two months ago I was 5'10 130lb sometimes less depending on how often I bothered to eat. Started a new job working for a good friend of mine who is a crazy bulk/health nut and the most cut guy I know. Just taking some of his advise on diet and such as well as having a much much more active lifestyle (hi2u construction/destruction) I'm sitting around 145(and gaining) as well as being a hell of a lot healthier even if thats not saying much due to my shit lifestyle.

Start taking a daily multi-vitamin if you arent already. Other than that a good diet and a minimal level of daily exercise should get you where you want to be in a few months.

If you want to cut a six pack and a nice upper body its going to take more than that though and I would really look into trying to work a gym visit into your schedule every other day or so. Everyone has at least one acquaintance that goes to the gym and works out. Try to hook up with them or find a personal trainer to get you started on the right track because you will feel a hell of a lot better mentally and physically once you start to work out more and just get healthier in general.

Hey guys. I'm getting fat. This is no joke. I'm usually a very solid/built 225-235. Yes, I always had a bit of a stomach. But it's firm underneath, and I'm "farmboy" strong. But lately, through some bad luck, health problems and a weird schedule, I've balooned (no really) up to 250.

The exercise wont be a problem, I've got free access to the YMCA.

However, diet is what's killing me. I need something strict and regimented, yet varied enough that I don't get bored eating it month after month.

Can anyone give me some advice, either in PM or Email, about a detailed diet to undertake? I can compensate you if it yields results. I know the basics about metabolism and whatnot, 3 meals 2 healthy snacks a day and all that. But I'm having a hard time finding quality meals to work it in with.

Anyways, feel free to PM me if you can help! I need to get rid of this spare tire!

The Taste of Success

Check those articles out and browse the site in general after that. There are other authors that deal with training, supplements and everything else. If you like to research and read up on everything, T-nation is a good source of materials.

I get my protein all my other supplements from them (Biotest that is). And no, I'm not a schill or whatever the fuck you call it. I just use what works and what tastes good.

My best advice is to place whatever you do in the morning. After I wake up I brush my teeth while stretching, do some pushups and situps, then shower. making a little workout part of your already existing daily routine helps a lot when it comes to sticking with something. Sticking with it is the hardest part of fitness, starting simple helps a lot too.

you tend to be in a "winding down" mode in the pm and too much random shit can pop up to make you forget/give up on it, what you want is a rocksolid habit here. Mornings tend to be exactly the same day in day out, and your brain just thinks in a more structured way when you first wake up.

Yeah If I don't do it in the morning its very easy to skip a workout. I wake up at 5:30 now these days, go run then come back and lift and have a protien shake. By then I feel awake and it's time to shower and get ready to work

Yeah, I got to get into that routine. Only if it's a couple dozen situps, pushups and chinups.

I've always gotten most of my exercise from hockey, lacrosse, and other team sports that are played primarily in the evenings, so it's not really a problem for me in that respect. It's tough for me to work out in the mornings, because I have to be in my office by 7, if not earlier, and if gym's only open at 5:30 that doesn't leave much time for showering and eating. I wish they'd open at 5, cause that extra 30 minutes would be perfect.

Since everyone has been talking about workouts that will help cut you up I figured I would share one that did me right one summer. Basically you have to go find a 400m track to do this easily.

Make sure to stretch and warm up really well or you probably won't be walking the next day. I took 10-15 second breaks in between sprints as well.

10m x 10
20m x 9
30m x 8
40m x 7
50m x 6
60m x 5
70m x 4
80m x 3
90m x 2
100m x 1
200m x 1
300m x 1
400m x 1

Doesn't seem so bad at first but unless you are in really good shape I'm willing to be you will be dying by the time you finish the 60m sprints. This workout is meant to be combined with a 3 mile run.

Anyhow give it a shot.

Oh yeah don't fucking walk back to the start, just start your next sprint from whatever side your on... Cheaters!

I've changed my tune in honor of the new forum. Smoke lots of cigarettes and drink plenty of whiskey. You won't need to worry about health much longer if you go hard on my new regimen.
