| Wow, I just found out Square-Enix is more greedy than SOE!
I reactivated my account on July 28, thinking I was going to be put on a billing cycle, but noo. On August 1, I was charged $12.95 for July and another $12.95 for August... WTF
So I chat with the CSR on PlayOnline.com and he totally cuts me off, so I called and the guy at the other end is friendly but can't do anything about it, "It's the protocol I have to follow". My ass, more like rip customers off tactic. $12.95 for 3 days of gaming is BS. That equates to $130 a month for a MMORPG, lol. Anyway, here's the conversation I had with the CSR after I asked, "Why was I charged $12.95 twice in the span of 4 days?"
FFXI TSR Jereme: YOu paid for the month of July in which you reactivated the ID and then you also paid for August at the same time.
FFXI TSR Jereme: All billing occurs on the first of the month.
Me: But I only played for 3 days in the month of July
FFXI TSR Jereme: We do not bill based on when you reactivate your ID>
Me: should my bill not reflect that?
FFXI TSR Jereme: No, regardless of the day you reactivate or purchase an ID you are billed for that full months fees.
Me: So you are saying, if I reactivated at 10pm July 31, I would be charged for 2 months?
Me: That is rather unfair to me, I pay 12.95 for 30 days of gameplay.
Me: Also, PlayOnline gives no warning of such a charge... it does not ask if I am sure to reactivate so late in the month
Me: I was sure that PlayOnline either is on a billing cycle or charges at the beginning of the month according to what percentage of the month was played
Me: Of course, I was wrong
FFXI TSR Jereme: You would be billed for the month you reactivated the ID on the first of the next month.
FFXI TSR Jereme: Our billing cycle is on the first of every month.
FFXI TSR Jereme: If you note, you were not billed on the date you reactivated the ID.
FFXI TSR Jereme: We simply postponed the fee to the next billing date, which is always the first of the month.
Me: I am aware that I was not billed the day I reactivated
Me: however, you billed me for a full month
Me: when my account was only active for 3 days
FFXI TSR Jereme: Correct, we billed you the full months fees for the month you reactivated your ID.
FFXI TSR Jereme: You were prompted that you would be billed those fees, and you agreed to those fees before you reactivated the ID.
Me: I was saying that is unfair, and I should only be billed for the 3 days
Me: instead of all 31 days
FFXI TSR Jereme: Are there any other issues I can assist you with right now?
