I'm only 21; And my IT job is a fairly high level one for the age I am; I AM the IT department for my small company; but I wouldnt have it any other way.


Then again, I get to be involved in a ton of shit. From marketing to asset tracking, to budgeting, to physical server builds/moves.

I wake up with a smile on my face every single day.

I guess its all about being happy with what you do.

Although I am still in IT, an old friend but a fairly junior guy quit the shit five years ago to go and work on a welding ticket. He'd watched Office Space too much or something and had a moment of clarity.

I shit you not, went from ~$40ish/hr contracting as a base to apprenticing for I don't know what but close to 20. A bit later and we are wondering who was the fool here. He works a ton and makes great cash and then he takes months off and spends it. Relatively little bullshit and the work is perhaps not engaging but what the hell really is anyhow?

Just watched this movie again, forgot how awesome the native music was. Very entrancing. Sounds WAY better in HQ, but can't set it as such by default.
