This should happen to every person who tried to flee from the police. I know its "wrong" for the officer to kick the guy like that, but I understand.

There has been a lot of police brutality on the internet recently... but this is one time where I'm not exactly broken up about it. I'm sure every police officer in that guys position at least wants to kick the dumbshit who put innocent peoples lives in danger in the face.

The people who put him to desk work probably gave him a high five also but told him it would be best if they put him behind a desk for a while until things blow over.

I don't have a lot of sympathy for a guy fleeing from police on the wrong side of the road, but that incident didn't happen while he was doing that. He had given up and places his hands and body on the ground and still got a foot to the face, kind of discourages surrendering imo

What if a person's breaks fail in San Fransisco and they go flying down a dozen hills before crashing and tumble out of their car sprawled face-down? Does a cop pumped-up on adrenaline who thought they were chasing down a criminal get a pass if they end up kicking the person in the face?

Part of police academy is to control your emotions and not acting on first instinct. Your life and others' lives may have been endangered, but police officers are trained to prepare for and deal with these situations; there's no excuse for kicking a defenseless person in the face, despite how much our primal selves may scream that they deserve it.
