Well, as fucked up as it is to sue the parent who's child got killed, I'm not sure I agree with the ruling. Basically, if you leave the keys in your car, and someone steals it, crashes it and dies, the family of the deceased has the right to sue you? Ummm, no.

Key difference is that she was driving, and killed herself. A more apt analogy would be there's a knife on the table, the girl takes the knife, stabs herself and tumbles through a glass window/door/table whatever, then the parent of the girl is responsible for paying for the item that her child broke. Most wouldnt even worry about the item because its fucked up to sue the person, as they already lost their child. Whats worse though, according to judge bitch, is that the parent of the girl can then counter-sue the other parent for leaving the knife out!

A couple things: First, why was a case like this even on such a trashy show? Seriously, both parents deserve to be kicked in the face for degrading their kids in a fake court.

Secondly, $5,000? This ties in with the first point, because $5,000 is probably the maximum that show will pay out, but again it raises the question of why she went on a fake court TV show. I'm glad she thinks her daughter's life is worth a whole 5 grand.

Finally, while that lady is a bitch for suing, Judge Judy's argument was bullshit as well. Leaving keys in a car, or even giving keys to someone with the understanding that they won't be driving is not the same as giving permission to do whatever the fuck they want. If the girl was driving, it was her fault, plain and simple.
