| It was perfectly reasonable for the cops to break that up. Freedom of speech is one thing, but defacing government property is quite another. It doesn't make a damn of difference if it's "water saluable", you could paint the washington monument like a rainbow with the same stuff and you can bet your ass it'd be illegal. Feel free to pass out posters, make commercials, or whatever, just as long as it's not violating anyone else's rights. This includes putting posters on anything that does not strictly belong to you. That guy at the end saying "People put posters here all the time and you never arrest THEM!" was full of shit. Did you see any other posters in that video? Every one of them will get taken down... just nobody else is arrested because they're not fucking stupid enough to announce that they're doing it. |
