Really, does it matter if the officer was following standard operating procedure or not? The public has an extremely dim view of the police these days and videos like this make the problem worse. The police depend on civilians to do their job. When the cops in that area wonder why no one under 30 is cooperating with their investigations they can look at Officer Fluff N Stuff who roughed up some punk kids over a city ordinance violation (i.e. nothing) and ended up on Youtube.

The police, by default are (unfortunately) not your friend. Protect and Serve hasn't existed for a long time, as basically our entire system of policing is set up in a predatory fashion. That's not to say police don't catch criminals and all that, but most of the time the police are doing nothing but trying to generate revenue to keep their infrastructure from collapsing.

You know what the police do in my town? They spend their entire day either handing out speeding tickets, or now more recently, handing out tickets to home owners for violating new "beatification" ordinances recently passed by our genius town council. Not mowing your lawn? Ticket! Having faded siding or peeling paint on your house? Ticket! Can't even park on the street any more, which is completely unbelievable, seeing as how we have a 2 car driveway and 3 cars.

I'm sorry but that entire video is bullshit. There is nothing wrong with police becoming physical with criminals...but they were riding a fucking skateboard. It may have been against a city ordinance or whatever, but if choking a kid and throwing people around violently is considered "by the book" in arresting someone for skateboarding I don't know what the fuck is wrong with the world.

Kid rides by on a skateboard, cop tells him to stop, he doesn't stop. What threat does he pose, honestly? You can draw up all the situations you want, he stole something and is running, he has a gun/drugs, maybe a warrant, etc etc...but if riding a skateboard is all of the sudden the type of the crime that justifies beating up kids there is something sour.

That cop lost it, it's fucking apparent. You see the other bicycle cop standing there, doing nothing? Because he's not a piece of shit who abuses his power. He let the two kids run away for a reason, because what the first cop was doing was wrong.

Those kids did not deserve that treatment. Next time you burn a CD from illegally downloaded songs how would you like a police officer storming your home and strangling you? That's what I equate this too...they're riding fucking skateboards.

Bicycle cops have minimal equipment in the field let alone no squad car to place people in after they are under arrest. Guy did what he had to do with the means he was given. Put his hand around the kids neck to pin him down while he got his handcuffs and/or gave his instructions.

Got to love how the little fucks claim police brutality but say nothing of how the guy got pinned to the ground in the first place. Seems to me like he tried to flee when the cop told him to stop and he had to do it the hard way. Feels like a Michael Moore movie.

And from the MPAA's perspective they don't even want you ripping a CD in the first place to have a back up.. If your disc gets damaged replacements are readily available at your local Best Buy at low low prices.
