That's the kind of shit the Taliban used to do in Afganistan. If you were caught wearing a mini skirt or whatever, they would drag you to a stadium and a horde of people would stone/beat you to death.

It's not only a part of Muslim history.

That exact thing was about to happen when those words were spoken. Of course, the Jewish and Christians have long since stopped doing stuff like that. The problem isn't Islam. The problem is that these nations are stuck in the stone ages. It's as if, with the exception of cars, phones, and televisions, the development of human kind has completely excluded them.

I'm sure that I'm wrong historically. I'm sure that many of the cultural advances that we tend to attribute to the west actually originated in Muslim countries, so far as moving out of dark age brutality goes. The fact still remains that somehow they're still stuck in that old mode, either as a reversion, or as something that was overlooked by the world over the ages.

I've seen people die in real life. I've seen videos of people dying. Nothing, when it comes to death, can compare to the absolutely horrendous feeling I got upon seeing those two videos of outright, dishonorable murder in close quarters while the victim is defenseless. Human life is taken by other human beings all the time, but something about the nature of how they do it over there makes it seem worse than a shot fired from across a battlefield, or a cracked out robbery in an alley.

It's hard not to think in a much more right-wing sort of way after seeing those. Hell, it's hard not to just let anger and hate build up.

I hope we can help to fix this problem because now that those places are in the world's spotlight, the problem of such brutality will either be solved, or it will spread like a cancer.
