It looks kind of clunky, but a good start I must say. I'm working on one of these tables this semester, I never thought about something like this.

At 12.5k a pop I think I'll stick to cardboard and paper for now.

MS is really going the route of Apple with this thing -- charge an abhorrent amount and try and make it look exclusive. Hell a developer license is 5k alone for the thing. IMO it is not ready for public use, though. WPF, .Net, and the Surface objects just do not play well at all. WPF in 4.0 is supposed to be more Surface friendly.

Pardon that statement if it sounds ignorant, but I seem to remember public places people used to go to play tabletop.

Pretty cool concept, but players tend to change their minds on where they want to go and this seems like it would limit a dm/gm. but for the cash get one of these. The_Sultanl and you will be the person who never gets left out of a game. you just need to front 8.5k instead of the 12.

Seems neat and all, but almost overly complex to realy be enjoyable vs old school PnP.

I don't see how this is better than our coffee table + 3 couches arrangement. I can only sit in a normal chair so long really.
