I think anyone in EQ, our "rivals" included, would agree: no tips were needed beating SoD since it was so insultingly easy. We beat the first 5 events in Tower with ~40 key'd folks, on our first run and demolished it with 54. Even the 'hard mode' version of 36 people isn't much of a challenge. Hopefully Underfoot is harder.

| Oh, ya by far. Air dragon in Crystallos alone is harder than any event in SoD. And Kera v1.0/2.0 was like light years harder than Brekt. There was always rumors that Tower was tuned for 36 or 42 or some stupid low number. They made a few small changes after it was beaten to make it somewhat harder but it was still a joke. All I could think as we were going through it is that all the smaller guilds could feasibly skip SoF entirely and get badass gear running thru these events. SoF basically phased out the use of Solteris and SoD phased out the use of SoD. The group gear from SoD alone (which drops like candy) nearly makes SoF obsolete. It's a shame, the gear inflation in this expansion was way too big. I'd make an argument that the entire expansion was as game changing as PoK books. |

The expansion began with an event where Lord Brekt invades the Plane of Fear. He basically owns the Gods, calling them impotent, and specifically referring to Bertox as a "thief" of power. More indication that most of the Gods somehow "Ascended". Veeshan is slain, and we all end up in the Void where Zebux has used the last of his powers to open portals to the vulnerable points in History that the Discordians have affected. These are all *MAJOR* events in EQ history, especially Vanilla and Kunark. You travel back to Oceangreen (prior to Qeynos). You learn more about Blackburrow and get to see Norrath in the distant past. You re-fight the Battle of Bloody Kithicor. Especially fun when you were there the first time. (Crossing my own timeline is bad, mkay) You get to see Rallos invasion of the Plane of Earth as he fights the Rathe. This was one of the earliest EQ1 stories. You get to join the battle in the Field of Bone (the battle that gave the zone it's name) Finally you travel to Korafax, and eventually the Tower of Discord. After your victory Zebux hits you one last time with the news that it might have been best if Norrath stayed destroyed. Something else is coming.... Something far worse than Discord.

| Not every expansion has to give bigger better more. Simply working within current bounds and fleshing out things is just as useful. And when you can give bigger better more AND flesh out.....

+19 Internets | That expansion storyline does actually sound cool. Then again I thought most of the Mistmoore stuff was neat too... It'd be interesting to see them flesh out how some of the other gods of Norrath ascended, and if they're really just more successful versions of Mayong, or just luckier. |

| HorrorFK | Mayong's story is extremely cool, but he's being overused too much. I want to know more about Erollisi Marr, The Nameless (wut), Quelllious, etc. Also in this SoD video, some of you might have seen the extremely large Galka: That's Eriak Zek - fourth descendant (loosely used) of Rallos.
