I have spent quite a while screwing around with perl, mysql, etc to get a sandbox Classic EQ server running.

You don't need to mess with any of that.

You will need to sign up for the forums here:

Acquire EQ Titanium. You can buy it, preferably. DO NOT PATCH IT ONCE YOU INSTALL IT. Simply running it will patch it. You need to invoke "eqgame.exe nopatch" in order to simply run the game.

Download this:

Download the maps:

Create your account: (click "account" in the lower left "account creation" section of the AX Classic Frontend)

Learn the GM functions:

Mess with bots (optional):

Login and enjoy your own server, complete with bots if you wish.

Do you really want me to answer that? The last thread was using Project EQ, which isn't as one stop install as AX is. You can also run PEQ under AX.

I see no problem with this being a new thread. This makes it easy for people interested to find out this information without having to wade through another thread. Realistically, I wouldn't know about this at all had he not posted it in a new thread with a simple, descriptive title.

I understand the desire to not clutter up the forums with useless or redundant threads, but I think this is distinctive enough to warrant its own.

my wife and i went to the fan faire in orlando back in....shit...2000 or so, we were even up on sony's website frontpage for awhile...the girl that played FV was *smokin* hot back then.

now, not so much.

make a shortcut to eqgame.exe and copy it to where ever is most convenient. then right click the shortcut and select properties. under Target you want this: "c:\your path to eq here\eqgame.exe patchme" with no quotes.
