| EQ Emulator... Nostalgia I know there are a bunch of EQ emulators (and UO and the like) out there that serve as replacement client/server systems. Replace the EQ login servers with these and presto you connect. But I don't want that. I want to run a prepopulated "classic" EQ server, connect with a client and set my level to 50 and run around Cazic with a full pop of random lizards and maybe a Golem or AoW. Be able to have GM powers and not start from level 1, killing moss snakes. Anybody know of a program that has classic EQ mob data already programmed in that is available for download and not a static server with other players? EDIT: So others do not have to face the indignity of coding their own emulator and programming their own database, I share with anybody who is interested: Buy this: Newegg.com - Everquest: Secrets of Faydwer PC Game SONY - PC Games Download this: Project EQ Play EQ in your own little sandbox (or connect to other servers). Server Pack An automated setup program that installs EQEmu and the database with little user knowledge or interaction. Please note: The update packs may be newer than the full verison listed below. EQEmulator Version: 0.7.0-1110 Database Version: 0.7.0-1110a Maps: Download Click the Download link. Then install Perl and MySQL, following the install instructions. THEN you have to reboot and install EQEmu. Then you need to configure minilogin. http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...MiniLoginSetup THEN you should be able to edit the eqhosts.txt file and finally once the server is running, you should be able to log in. | I have not come across one or obviously I would not have asked. I didn't see any other single computer client/server EQ emulator threads. So yes, it did deserve a new thread. Seriously - does anybody know or do they just not exist? |

| Clearly I would run it on the same PC. But I need one to run first. One that is prepopulated with mobs, items, etc. Not one that I connect to and create an account on. I want to mess around with it for a day or two, not spend a week or a month leveling up. |
