| Well according to the video, he did exactly as department policy instructed. So anyone complaining should take issue with the policy, not that the cop didn't throw her over his shoulder and carry her further away from the road.

+66 Internets | ^ and that's the point I try to make repeatedly in these threads. Policies need to be changed so that Tazers are used as what they were SUPPOSED to be used for: as an alternative to deadly force when dealing with a subject who is an immediate danger to the officer, the public, or themselves. It should NOT be used to coerce uncooperative suspects into complying, as there is a very real chance of death when it is used on people in agitated states. Tazer International's frequent defense of their device is to say "yeah well, sure, a couple dozen or hundred people have died from Tazers, but we've saved tens of thousands of lives because otherwise the person would have been shot!" Which is just total horse shit, because in the vast majority of cases where the Tazer was deployed, the officer absolutely would NOT have used their pistol if they were not equipped with a tazer. This is a perfect example of that. Last edited by Eomer; 06-10-2009 at 10:26 AM.. |

+3 Internets | Even though the lady refused everything the cop told her, and resisted arrest, shes going to win a law suit against this department and their policies.

+69 Internets | every single time I've gotten a ticket, the officer always says "By signing, you are not admitting any guilt, you are just agreeing to show in court" or something like that. And on the signature line, it even says "This is not an admission of guilt."

It's not the cop's fault you're breaking laws. He shouldn't have to put up with your bullshit when he catches you doing it. Take your fucking attitude and shut the fuck up, and you'll be just fine, and probably walk away from the situation taze free. Until videos start being posted of people being respectful and cooperative with cops getting tazed, I'm not gonna get too riled up about the situation because they reap what they sow. | |

| Actually got pulled over 11 times, but never got more than one ticket per time. I had a light out that I got pulled over for 6 of those times (was working a night shift, 11pm - 9am), so I got hit hard for having that light out. My registration had also expired, which I got two tickets for before I got paid so I could actually register the damn thing. Then another time or two for speeding. Was a bad month. At least I didn't get tickets all 11 times right? I got pulled over twice within like minutes, on the same damn street, just two different cops, on my way to work. I about killed someone. |
