You should read the part where she pushed the officer into oncoming traffic. Depending on the speed of the traffic that's either assault or attempted murder, either of which justifies the use of a tazer as a means of physical restraint using the typical police department's force continuum.

I don't think your age should justify special treatment. If she can still speed, swear and assault cops then she should be treated like any other douche.

Also, in Virginia the state police don't use tasers. Personally, all you have to do is explain yourself to people. More often than not the people that refuse to sign citations believe that they are signing an admission of guilt. Once you tell them that it's mandatory to sign it, and that it is not saying that you agree that you're guilty they will normally sign. That or you tell them that they're going to have to be taken to either the local magister or jail for not signing they normally change their tune.

But, had she just been one hateful old bitch, I would've treated her like anybody else. Respect for elders only goes but so far when they could potentially result in a death along the side of the highway. More police officers are killed by passing motorists hitting them than by shootings. So you don't want to stand on the side of the highway more than you can help. I would have taken her down as soon as she tried to get back into the car. Bam, grab a wrist from behind and it's game over.

Cops really do have a hard time. You're supposed to prioritize the protection of yourself, other officers, and innocent civilians, yet politicians, the press, and random motherfuckers will second- and third-guess every fucking thing you do and god help you if you injure or kill a suspect in an attempt to protect yourself or someone else.

Make friends with a cop and you'll hear a lot of great stories about shit that damn near killed them. If you apply to the police force, at least down here, one of the things that is guaranteed to get you rejected is if you seem hesitant to use force, especially lethal force. Those officers result in more innocent deaths than the trigger happy ones.

Where did that officer get pushed into traffic? Yeah, that old stubborn granny should have been arrested for everything that she was initially charged for. Yet, you're telling me that officer simply couldn't handcuff her? Fuck, he tazed her for eight youtube seconds!

Hell, he pushed her very good when he first got her out of the car.

The video shows that the women did indeed deserved to be arrested. I do not see in this video where a taser was needed.

He barely shoved her away a few times very easily. If it were a 40 year old man/bigger woman, I could see using a tazer, but she never really posed a threat to him or herself.
