| Color Swap Guys, I need some help with a picture I took recently. This shot was taken with the "Color Swap" feature accidentally enabled on a Canon SD 1100 IS camera. I know this is the SS forum and I'm sure there'll be flames galore, but I love this picture and I was wondering if any of you out there knows how to reverse this effect. Sadly, I also don't know what colors were swapped for which ones so I'm not going to be much help there either. ![]() Anyway, thanks in advance for any help you can provide. PS. Sorry for the huge pic but I'm leaving it in its original resolution in hopes of preserving quality. |

+11 Internets | Looks like some swapping was going on your (assuming it's you) facial hair and her forehead, looks all pixelated. Rather than flipping the two unknown colors back, how do you want the picture to look? Brighter, darker, more surreal, sunset, sunrise, high noon? Can touch it up, but I don't think there's much one can do to fix the fragments around the picture, outside of a full blown touch up. |

| Yeah it seems my facial hair, the top strands of her hair and some other things were swapped by another color. I have no clue how the camera picked what colors to swap either. I guess what I'm looking for is to reverse this effect and have the pic look like how it's really supposed to. Is that even a possibility? ![]() Oh and thanks for the reply niteflyx. |

+11 Internets | Looking at other color-swaps gone wrong, usually it's just like, they change the reds for greens and such, so you can play with the curves to somewhat reverse it.. This one changed the colors pretty hard that it got rid of the smoothness, for lack of better term. I don't really use photoshop for photo touchups, but will ask the shoopin' pros I know. |

| We can't really fix it with a .jpg well. By definition a .jkg will be compressing using nearest neighbor, which will blend and create artifacts pixel by pixel. The original .bmp or .tiff would allow more luck. The red/brown was originally a light blue. And appears to be about 10 differant shades. If you have PS and what to try it yourself. Theres two options. Use the select tool to select a color range. Choose this tool and set fuzziness to about 10-15 and then use the color picker to pick the color you want to select to change. This will then give you the ants selection of that color allowing you to just paint in a new color over only those pixels. This will give you freedom to paint each area as you wish. Use the Image>Adjust>replace color. Set also to 10-15 fuzziness, then color pick the color you want to change, then use the slider to try and match as best you can. |
